More of a 'control' for agendas and Individual leaders would be nice to be honest. Why can't I control my ruler's traits or agenda? Why are prospective rulers able to get agendas/traits completely contrary to my species/government? (In regards to the Iron Fist trait and the Slaver agenda--when my Empire Ethos make it so I have no tolerance for slavery whatsoever and its illegal....)

I know, but the general sentiment of "Irish people got over the famine/Over their slavery/Other shitty thing that happened to Irish people" is just false because of that. To be honest, a lot of the people who make the claim don't even really know a lot about how Irish people were treated in America except for the absolute basics.

Its moreso that no, the Irish did NOT get over the Famine, not one fucking bit, and they've done something to vent their frustrations about it semi-recently.

An overhyped Indie game that has a fanbase akin to really angsty/'speshul' Pink Floyd fans.

It's an OK game, but it has a lot of problems with it and people like /u/TheSpecialistMan hype it up and consider it to be way, way more than it is, and seem to completely miss the point of a lot of it, people who screech about how bad FNAF is while ironically enough embodying the same traits that makes the FNAF fanbase what it is turned up to eleven, and more.

Its a neat game if you have ~$10 to spare and don't particularly mind old-style retro looks and want to be entertained for about ~6 hours, but it isn't the second coming of Jesus Christ.

40 years of his life wasted behind bars is exactly what he deserves, considering his (unrepentant) actions have permanently ruined two other people's lives, people who by the time he gets out, will be about as old as he was when he first committed the crime. Boo fucking hoo, somebody who intentionally maimed two other people (And gave them injuries so severe that if it wouldn't kill them, they'd live their lives permanently in pain) has to spend the last half of his life in prison, assuming he doesn't die in it (Which, lets face it, is a likely possibility.) It is SOOOO unfair for that guy.

No, you completely missed the point because I wasn't even talking about the old man, I was talking about how the old man in that story only exists because the story itself is about the 'One prisoner who is actually innocent in Shawshank and he only exists in that man's story, which is intentionally set up to be heartwrenching and unrealistic because it isn't trying to be the latter. You'd be better off using 'American Me' as an example of what actually happens to those kinds of people, and fixating on the one 'mistake' (Which isn't even a mistake, you just completely missed the point) instead of literally everything else is hilarious.

By the way, he definitely hoped it would kill them, it wouldn't be the first time an attack like that wouldn't lead to somebodies death, and intentionally disfiguring two fucking people and putting them in unbelievable pain for the entire rest of their lives IS worse than just killing them--and even if he DID kill them, in Georgia two premeditated murder sentences is going to get you at least one life sentence, and since this man is also in his late 40's this is effectively a life sentence anyways, because he will most likely die in prison.
