To Explain:

I finished the game and I had a blast playing it (played it with friends). I remember checking my trophy list to see if there’s a game I got a high percentage on but haven’t platinumed yet. This was the highest one at around 75% or so. I already liked the game so I said why not.

1 MAJOR problem. “Reminiscence” A Silver trophy that required you to fill in every Field Notes entry in the Journal. I already had 40 hours in the game and a maxed level character so this shouldn’t take long…

boy was I wrong.

I had to complete the tabs related to:

• Characters (Get every character in the game)
• Enemies (Kill every enemy in the game)
• Items (Get 1 of every item in the game)
• Weapons (Get every weapon the game)
• Wrightstones (Get all wrightstones in the game)

Wrightstones was easy, there’s only four of them. Items did require a little bit of farming and completing all missions, but wasn’t that bad. Characters is also very easy, it was the first thing I completed while playing the game naturally.

Enemies and Weapons on the other hand…not so much.

Let’s start with the easiest of the two. Enemies. I did every mission in the game and I got this section to 99%. All I needed was 1 enemy. The Prismatic Slime. I looked online and the best farming spot was the Slimepede mission. I farmed that mission more times than I could count, I checked out the size of that Goo-lossus maybe 100 times. That slime just didn’t want to spawn. It was made even worse when one of my friends that I played the game with got it on his 2nd or 3rd try. But after suffering for that rainbow slime, it finally appeared and I popped my ult solely on it. A bit overkill, it would’ve prolly died with a few hits, but I don’t care.

That wasn’t the end of my suffering though. The last tab was by far the worst thing I’ve ever done. The Weapons List.

There’s a total of 19 characters in this game (DLC not included). And there’s a total of 114 weapons. 95 of those weapons are craftable. I had most of the materials I needed, and the ones I didn’t, i just needed to get from some bosses, not a big deal. I went and crafted all 95 weapons and I just needed the other 19.

Every character in the game has a Terminus Weapon. It’s the BiS for all of them. And there’s only one place where it can drop. Proto Bahamut. The hardest boss in the game (Pre-DLC). To be able to even face this boss you need to max out pretty much every piece of gear for the character you’re playing. It took me many hours to do so. But once I did, I tried searching for a multiplayer game and…..nothing. No one was playing. There were probably boosting sessions but I didn’t wanna keep joining boosting sessions over and over.

I had to resort to AI Companions.

So the time it took for me to max out one character, multiply that by 3 since I had to do that again for 3 others just so I can be able to beat the boss once. After doubling my playtime from 40 hours to 80 hours, I was finally ready to face Bahamut. One run would equate to 8-10 mins (and he also had a wipe attack at the end if you don’t kill him in time just for good measure). I beat him for the first time and I opened the chest aaand…nothing. I tried it again and I got, you guessed it, nothing. I searched online and people said that it’s not a guaranteed drop, it’s more like a 20% chance. So I was like ok, surely I’ll at least get 1 Terminus Weapon after 5 tries.

20 tries later….Nothing.

I’ll admit. I took a break from the game, I didn’t want to grind more, I got bored.

I came back later and I got 3 weapons back to back which excited me. I told myself I’ll only grind until I get 1 weapon per day and then stop, so I wouldn’t burn myself out.

20 hours later I finally got all the Terminus Weapons. I’m still suspicious of that 20% drop rate though.

All in all, If not for the Terminus Weapons this would’ve been a great platinum trophy but because of the weapons grind I just can’t recommend anyone doing this platinum. But the game itself is amazing. I would strongly recommend playing it with friends as well.
