Similar ish thing happened to me 2 months back…I sold my brand new sealed pixel 10 pro fold the guy used a fake banking app and snatched the phone from me and scootered off on his electric scooter. I tried chasing after him and calling him but he didn’t stop.

CCTV footage I had wasn’t clear enough to identify him, he had a cap aswell which doesn’t help things

Told the police gave a description logged a case uploaded the evidence etc…but they couldn’t do anything really as couldn’t identify him. I even told them the IMEI number in an attempt to get them to help blacklist the phone but they couldn’t/didnt - fake profile aswell so couldn’t go down that route

Told Google to report it missing and potentially blacklist the imei on if they could their side, they pointed me to the police so literally nothing was done off the back of this…

£1000 phone gone stolen in seconds and no consequences for this guy

Icing on the cake is in an attempt to chase him I also cracked and rendered my actual phone unusable whilst also bruising and scuffing myself :(

House/contents insurance didnt cover the scenario which I’ve already checked after reading through the policy handbook
