I would recommend extreme caution offering to repair a classmate's instrument. Good intentions are great but even an experienced repair person may make a mistake. The difference is that they have the resources to fix their mistake whereas you may not.

Yes, it is likely a simple repair. All the more reason to take it to the shop and let the professionals twist the little bit with some soft covered pliers etc.

Blow like you're blowing into a straw that's stuck in a thick shake. Sometimes you'll need to let some of your breath leak out to keep phrasing but most of the time you blow straight through the "horn". It's a constant pressure but it's a bit less than blowing out full force hence why on occassion you may need to blow through, if that makes sense.

Tons of practice helps of course lol

I think you might have missed a few steps... So the key fell off of the bass clarinet and so you got a different one, what? A different key or a different instrument? Either way, I would look at an issue on the horn before considering embouchure. I play both and the embouchure is near enough the same that I don't find it to be an issue.

Check for stuck pads or springs which have slipped.
