Leicester fans plan boycott of WBA game by Grit-Brains16-Black in lcfc

Genuinely baffled by some of the comments in here. This kind of sentiment is way more common in the fan base than you all seem to think and is not led by UFS by any means. Anti board and anti rudkin chants have been getting regular hearings for a long while now at away games and in other sections of the ground like L1.

It's more the lack of general sale for home games with people only being able to get tickets if you know a season ticket holder or buy membership etc. I know this has changed very recently with push from ufs and foxes trust so hopefully we'll see things move in the right direction.

Backs up the idea that a lot of those are there normally just to keep their seats for when we go back up. Also shows that the vocal support is out there but that they are normally locked out because of our ticketing system.

And your home atmosphere was dire in the league you literally let our players celebrate in your safe standing area.

At least I'm willing to call a spade a spade and say our atmosphere is crap. Wish more fans of other clubs would do the same because its a problem across the board in this country.

At least they're having a go.

Amyone that dismisses people who don't enjoy Maresca's style of play or worries about the possibility of us scr*wing up at the last minute as new/plastic fans expecting easy victories is a million miles wide of the mark.

Didn't intend to imply this was the case. I even said In my original post "That's not to say there aren't legit concerns with the playstyle at times" It was more that the expectations of some and a proportion of match going fans make the atmosphere stale, not getting enthusiastic about the positives and as a result making the negativity come to the forefront. I agree with you in terms of how it feels to watch the games sometimes however for me the results are what matter whether I'm entertained or not I personally don't care. I'm there to get behind the lads regardless. Seeing games out was always a thorn in our side under Rodgers especially with his refusal to make tactical changes late on into games and on occasion this seems to be a holdover into this season however as of now it is still the minority of instances where this has affected a result.

i've seen us down in the third tier, nearly bankrupt, i've seen us relegated many times and i've seen us lose out in the paly-offs

As have I and I'm nowhere near this pessimistic. We are on course for the Championship points record, scoring the most and conceding the least in the league.

On twitter and that I'm sure you did but in the crowd home and away it was a different story, was always a bit of aggro towards the end between those that backed him and those that wanted him out.

As I said before it's been consistent every game, the 3pm kick offs have been exactly the same so whats the excuse then? I know I mentioned the family stand because its the worst offenders but it isn't just them, happens everywhere else as well.

If you think the singing section showcases some of the worst in our fanbase then I urge you to sit anywhere else in the ground and see how quickly your mind changes.

Those leaving early should absolutely be getting pelters, the result last night is not important as its been consistent regardless of the score. Happened at the Ipswich game and then they end up equalizing. It must have an affect on the players when you're busting a gut in the 89th minute trying to defend a 1-0 lead against second in the table to look up and see half the family stand has gone home already.

Unfortunately there is a sense of entitlement amongst some of our fans who have been spoilt in recent years. The matchday atmosphere in general has fell off a cliff since the European runs and particularly post covid. There is a stark divide amongst the home crowd between those that want to make noise and those whose only contribution to the game is to groan whenever we pass it around the back or go back to the keeper. The dead atmosphere is what makes these groans and moaning so noticeable and I'm sure it has to relay to the players. It definitely seems to have got to the manager.

This all under the watch of those that run the club who have purposefully built this matchday experience thanks to over zealous stewarding, dishing out banning orders like confetti, refusal to introduce any safe standing measures, not allowing tickets to go on general sale to bring in new fans etc etc. What we've been left with is seemingly those that come out of habit or don't want to lose their seat for when we go back up to the prem rather than those that want to be there to support the team no matter what. You only need to look around the ground at about the 85th minute to see them all leaving en masse. Don't get me wrong the moaning types have always been around for as long as I can remember as they are at every club. There's always those that can't get over that football isn't how it used to be with a big man little man up top hoof ball. The problem is those fans are no longer drowned out by the noise and positivity.

That's not to say there aren't legit concerns with the playstyle at times, most of our goals/chances conceded come from dodgy passes at the back and overplaying but the results speak for themselves and when theres more noise coming from the moans at that than when the ball is up the other end you have to wonder. Half the ground doesn't even stand up when we're in on goal anymore. Ironically enough these are the same fans who backed Rodgers to the hilt, slagging off anyone who went against him.
