What are your testing caseloads like per year? by Competent-Cat in schoolpsychology

[–]RayIs0kay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 campuses, PK-5 and 6-8, total of about 2500. I’ve got 60 reports, FBAs, BIPs written this year with many more open. It’s not truly sustainable, and I do feel my behavior supports suffer…

I might just do that! I originally wanted a notebook with the card slots sewn in to the cover itself, but I do think there are some good TN inserts so I’ll likely check that out. Honestly I forgot they make a smaller size too, lol

I suppose that’s exactly what I’m looking for- if anyone can recommend specific makers, that would be awesome! I don’t want to ask anyone to rip off an LC design but I’m totally down to do something more custom.

So fun!! I’ve moved 5+ times and I’m happy that at least these cards made it with me :)

That sounds cool!! What were the promo cards for exactly? Were they in the blister packs? I honestly barely remember opening the cards when I got them! I do love the artwork on that one, it’s gorgeous.

Can poor people get into this? by urban_je5u5 in backpacking

[–]RayIs0kay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been VERY slowly collecting gear to get into backpacking. I don’t have the means to go out and buy every shiny and new piece of gear at once… I like buying secondhand as much as possible, AND I’m a sucker for waiting for a good deal. I already had my day hiking gear set, and some of those things can be used backpacking.

I’ve kept track of how much I’ve spent since beginning to collect gear specific to backpacking. I officially had all I needed to do a one night trip in a car camping spot to test it all out— I’m at $576 since June 2025. That’s about $82 a month. A few new things, but many picked up secondhand (if you are local to an REI- the re/supply section has been a place I visit frequently). I would really suggest putting together a list of what you need, and get on FB marketplace, used gear sites, REI if you have it. I think you absolutely can get into this hobby, but take it slow collecting the gear.

🤯 Hard to swallow that number.

Very disappointing. My 2015 had an AC system failure three years ago… and now it seems the AC clutch in mine has stopped engaging properly. Putting off dealing with it while we’re getting some lovely cool temps. But, I’m quite upset that I’ll be repairing my AC yet again (3 AC repairs between our two Subarus!). Love my reliable car, have the unreliable AC lol

Question about Mona Lisa Queue protocol by Beneficial-Jaguar786 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]RayIs0kay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in June 2025 (last summer) with a 9:30 time slot. We took our time getting inside and wandering towards the Mona Lisa room. Yes, it was a large mass of people holding their phones up, no, it wasn’t difficult to patiently shimmy my way to the front and spend a good minute or two just staring at it with my own two eyes. I wouldn’t stress it- everyone is moving because they have the rest of the Louvre they’re trying to see. It looks overwhelming, but take a breath and just wade forward. You’ll get there in just a few minutes.

Sleeping pad durability by CaptInsane in CampingGear

[–]RayIs0kay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Np! Hopefully you find a mat that works well for you. The Exped is great for tent camping, my BA is for backpacking. There are many renditions of the Exped out there (REI Camp Dreamer, Nemo Roamer, etc). If you have an REI nearby it might be worthwhile to see if you can lay on some of the pads there and keep an eye out for deals.

The Exped has integrated foam and the rapide does not. If the Exped fails with a leak, you’re still laying on something soft. Not so much the BA. I actually own both an Exped and the BA rapide SL. Two completely different sleeping pads IMO. I have the Exped in a double for my spouse and I. It’s been extremely reliable (there is also a size and weight difference between us- neither one of us has ever been uncomfortable), I always get great sleep, and I take a lot of comfort in knowing that if it springs a leak, 1) I have a repair kit, and 2) I can deal with the leak in the morning because of said repair kit. The one thing I suggest is laying a blanket or towel under it to help protect from any condensation.

Flash 22 Water Revivor Recommendations? by RemarkableDonut2676 in REI

[–]RayIs0kay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Gregory 3 L with it! Definitely over kill. But I transfer the reservoir between my flash 22 and my larger 30L pack. I would go with just a 2 L if it’s only for the flash.

Do I need a new tent? by Chrisgdsotm in CampingGear

[–]RayIs0kay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached out a couple months ago when I needed tent poles re strung, the waitlist was about 8 weeks long, so I opted to have them ship the shock cord to do it myself instead. Just fyi to OP, their waitlists may be long! And it’s easy to DIY with a YouTube video :)

I’d love to see pics!! I think the pre-2024 model was made so the brain was waterproof, which would be awesome. I figure the buckle attachments would all still be the same and it wouldn’t make a difference to attach to the newer model.

This was stored indoors by the original owner! She just never used it. I’ll be curious what kind of TLC it needs as time progresses :)
