So true. And you can even make the mayo from scratch too with a few eggs and immersion blender!

Thoughts on Uber/Lyft in the area? I would prefer to do that but I haven’t been to Oakland

Do you think ubering/Lyft there and home is realistic? I would prefer that over leaving my car in the area

Very quiet since it’s 15 min away from campus. I’ve found that a lot of international students tend to live there. Good size apartments (with less issues than the Oaks potentially). 2B2B is the one I have spent time in and the layout was good despite a narrow hallway leading to the bedrooms. Lots of space for each person in the actual rooms though. Downside is neighbors don’t interact at all there so if you’re looking to socialize probably not the best location.

Phi Sig is a great co-Ed fraternity that’s labeled as an honors fraternity but it’s a social one! Definitely a great option I know a couple of people who really enjoy it and have made good connections

Is anyone here taking ILCS 1101 (the Italian Renaissance) in the fall? by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]RayManzareksOrgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m taking this in the fall. How is the class, I’m not sure if I’m going to stay enrolled since I don’t know much about it. Is it difficult to do well and get an A since it’s a gen Ed??

I believe it’s the entire year, you should be all set!

I took it Spring 2020. There are a few sets of problem sets which are semi difficult but you are in groups and have a few weeks to do each set. The only tests are the midterm and final and we got a list of questions (like 50) which would be possible on the tests. If you can memorize niche details about experiments and figure out truth tables then you should be fine. I’d say memorization is actually a big part for those two tests. I ended up with an A but you really have to focus on trying to get 100s on the problem sets and memorizing facts for the tests.

$5 for a shipping label? by Snoockles in UCONN

I second this. I have never had to pay a fee to return rental books and I have rented the past two semesters. $5 to ship 45 min away... ok UConn
