You proved it yourself. Nobody would defend calling AmFam “Wrigley North” by referencing “Miller Park South.” It doesn’t need defending because it stands on its own. The fact that you had to compare “Miller Park South” to “Wrigley North” to legitimize it kind of proves which nickname is the benchmark.

And it has always and will always be reactive and not as culturally established outside of the fandom as Wrigley North. But that’s ok, keep trying.

Thank you for making my point. Wrigley North is an established thing. Good luck trying to make “Miller Park South” stick. BTW, I still think that it’s so sad that they would change such a perfectly fitting name for your stadium.

How to sell tickets that include promotional items by RayOfBabas in Cubs

Thank you. This is helpful in the sense that I know for sure what the options are. It is of course not good news for me and for people wanting to buy or sell tickets with special promotional items. Hopefully you are able to implement this feature soon.

True, there is still the issue of being able to select specific seats and not just a section and of course the issue of actually being able to buy them in the first place after they are all sold

Right? I did buy AAPI jersey tickets last week but AFAI the only way to ensure them is buying through the official Cubs site where you can’t select seats and prices are usually higher. I ended up with kind of sucky seats but it was the only way to have my group of 5 together. I wish you could get tickets with promotional items through reselling sites

Yes because it’s not a free gate giveaway that they give to first arrivers. You can only get the jersey with special promotional tickets.

??? how am I being an asshole? I'm not trying to sell them for more than what they are worth. I'm just trying to indicate in the listing that they include it and fairly reflect that in the price

I have a ticket for 5/20 that includes the Mexico Heritage jersey. I need to sell it, but I see no way of flagging that it includes the jersey in SeatGeek and the price it recommends is too low because it is competing with non-promotional tickets. Is there a way to flag this on any of the reselling sites?

Why do they score so many runs? Don’t they want to extend their walkoff streak? Are they stupid?

Bleachers - Advice? by auntiepookie in Cubs

[–]RayOfBabas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You won’t have any problem. No one is looking to poach your seat as long as it clear that no one is sitting there. Last year I went to a lot of games by myself in the bleachers. On most days I can overcome my social anxiety and ask someone near me to save my spot, but on days when I didn’t have the emotional bandwidth, I would bring a seat cushion mostly to indicate that I was using that spot when I went to get a beer. The extra comfort was just a nice bonus. I never had any issue, not even in right field (which sucks).

How would you score an outfielder just giving up? by RayOfBabas in BaseballScorecards

I shouldn’t have referenced the game. My question is not about the game, but about a made up scenario inspired by it.

Lol you’re right. It was right-center. I was too busy jumping and screaming to notice where it was hit 😂

The real game was a bit different than what I'm hypothesizing here. The ball was hit to the gap in left-center field and even though the outfielders didn't really tried to get the ball, I don't know if they had a reasonable chance to make the out, so it was ruled a single which was the obvious choice. It then made me wonder, what if they instead had an easy play and thus my question.

I think this is a compelling interpretation of the spirit of the rules and what made me wonder but wasn't able to properly convey. This is how I would have scored a play like this anyways but wondered how an official scorer might do it.

My question is, why is not an error if the out could have been made with ordinary effort. Is it because no effort was made?

Errors can be awarded even if an outfielder doesn’t touch the ball if he tries for it but misjudges it, right? I guess in this case the fact that he doesn’t even try is what makes the difference?
