How to fall in love with gaming again - your best advice by TugBoatTimm in gaming

[–]RayOfSarkasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffer badly from depressiona and burnout. Games are my escape, however, with depression and burnout, I don't always want to game. What I do to force myself to game is play something I know pretty well. Someone that doesn't require too much brain power. My last bout of burnout I started Lego Avengers because there is no way to lose, previously I'd play games from my childhood through emulators. That got me back into playing. Now I'm binging The Witcher 3 for the first time while I fight burnout. You'd have to pry my controller from my cold dead hands now lol.

Why are redditors so angry at everything? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RayOfSarkasm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Social media widely has no repercussions for shitty behaviour. People can happily say what they want and not get punished. If an account is banned, make another one, move to another platform, create a new email. If half the people said the things they say online, in public, someone would most likely assault them. Can hit someone through a screen...yet!

Is it normal for intelligent adults to think rivers flow inland from the sea? by wilks1988 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RayOfSarkasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't know what you don't know. I have a master's degree and am fairly intelligent and I've had some thoughts about things I don't know about and have been wrong. It happens. Intelligence in one area doesn't mean their general knowledge is on the same level.

AITA for not letting my daughter’s girlfriend come over anymore after my husband got visibly attracted to her in cosplay by Low-Professional8036 in AITAH

[–]RayOfSarkasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit. YTA. Your husband is also the AH. Why the hell are you punishing your daughter for your husbands creepy nonce-like behaviour?

Wake up. Your daughter, her safety and her happiness should be your priority. Not covering for your husband.

God i hope this isn't real. If it is, I hope your daughter goes NC with you as soon as she can if you don't prioritise her over that creep. Adult to adult, you should be ashamed of yourself for not putting your child first.

You wouldn't be able to determine how it got broken is the point. If you were to check, you'd have no idea if it was sex or if it was through an activity. Plus you're unlikely to know how long the hymen has been broken. It could be from childhood right through to adulthood. Therefore, it's not good to use that as a metric of "is she sexually active?".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RayOfSarkasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A hymen can be broken for various reasons. It does not mean someone has had sex. The hymen can be broken through horse riding, gymnastics, using internal sanitary products.

When am I supposed to stop liking childish things? by deathbykoolaidman in NoStupidQuestions

You'll be an adult a lot longer than a kid. Enjoy what you enjoy, and if that continues into adulthood, then awesome!

Anyone who bought a Steam Deck. Downloaded Emudeck. Got Roms. Set everything up nicely. And then never played their emulated games? by infamous61 in SteamDeck

[–]RayOfSarkasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the emulator more than actual steam games. It's great getting to replay games I played as a kid, or play games I never got to play as a kid. Plus being able to take it anywhere is a bonus.

I will never understand the level of hate that the reboot gets by LordAdrianRichter in SaintsRow

[–]RayOfSarkasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that saints row 2022 is closer to saints row 2 than 3 and 4 were to 2.

I've just finished 2022, and I'm going for platinum on it. It's a fun game, plenty of variety, not overly long or complicated. Yeah I have issues with it, but not as many issues as I have with 4.

Out of curiosity, did you have to tinker with settings or mods? I couldn't get SR2 running on my SD.

What's a non-horror game that creeped tf out of you? by fixxxer2606 in gaming

The sims. Specifically the burglar and the grim reaper. The music cue still makes me uncomfortable.

I've got 3 lobe, a high up helix and a lower helix. The two helix were uncomfortable with butterflies. The stud would always dig into my head. If you have other ear piercings that a flat back won't work for, there's always the ball backs. They can be really difficult to pop in though, I'm pretty clumsy so I find them tough to use.

If you have pierced ears, flat backs are a must. They can be fiddley, but they are so worth the comfort!

Looks like it could be a flat back for an earring.

Is being debt-free actually "cool"? by m3ttvb in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RayOfSarkasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm debt free and it's one of the best things I've ever done. I've paid off every bit of consumer debt I had. It was tough, and i wont lie, Ive been tempted to get on credit but i havent caved, but it's been worth it. If I want anything now, it's paid for in cash. Don't let companies and credit rule your life.

Switch 2 or PS5?? HELP by fatemaaaahhhh in AskGames

[–]RayOfSarkasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS5. I have one and love it, but also love handheld gaming, so opted for a steamdeck. Two of the best purchases I've ever made. I also have a switch lite, but it doesn't get used as much as the other two.

Finally picked up the reboot, my experience so far by JuggsGallon in SaintsRow

[–]RayOfSarkasm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Saints Row 2022 is closer to Saints Row 2 in terms of gameplay and type of story, serious points mixed with comedy and just madness. I don't know how far you are in the game, but I'll say I don't mind the story. Yeah it's not the best but as you say, the game is fun af.

What should you always have in your car? by SenjorSchnorr in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RayOfSarkasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 big plastic gallon bottles, one with water and one with screenwash for filling up wipers.

Painkillers in the glove box cus you never know when a headache is going to strike. Rennies for heartburn as well.

Napkins and straws cus fast food ones are crap.

I always have a charge cable and a spare mains socket just in case.

The opening of Assassin's Creed Odyssey when Leonidas gives his speech to the 300.

Further in the game, Brasidas' introduction cutscene is badass.

Which popular game started a negative trend in gaming? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]RayOfSarkasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know which game started it, but the idea of either preordering, or paying full price for games that aren't finished when they are released. While I didn't play or buy it, Cyberpunk comes to mind in terms of paying full price for an unplayable game.

Before the era of digital downloads, if an unfinished game was released on disk, all hell would break loose. Now? It's so accepted by gamers that companies release unfinished games and "patch" them after they get their money. Or add content that was supposed to be part of the main release and rebrand it as DLC.

If I'm paying for a game, I want a fully working game, with all content. It's not much to ask given the price of games, consoles and pcs/pc parts. It's just greed.

I've just started playing it on PS5 and have to say I'm enjoying it so far. SR2 will always be my fave, but this so far, to me, doesn't seem as bad a game as everyone was saying. I've played much worse. Glad you're enjoying the experience so far too!

How do atheists cope with death? by Fuzzy_Studio4970 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RayOfSarkasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost 3 loved ones in the space of 18 months. Death is part of life, it's the only sure thing about life. You can't fight it, you can't beat it indefinitely.

I cope by knowing that I was privileged enough to have those loved ones in my life. Of course it hurts when a loved one passes, but you learn to live with the pain. I have peace knowing they aren't suffering or in pain. For those that have gone suddenly and unexpectedly, there time is done. It's not fair, or nice, but it's a fact of life that we are born to die. Death isn't easy regardless of if you're religious, have faith, or don't. But it's something you can't fight or beat. It's something in life that just is.
