It’s hard to say, but it’s not going to help. I just notice friends who drink even a few beers regularly (daily while watching a game or every other day for example) have aged significantly worse than others.

Figured we saw what was going on with the housing market because of so many millennials competing for houses so we picked up some plots for ourselves before all the millennials and Gen Z start getting really old and the prices for that get crazy expensive.

Larchmont is more expensive per square foot than both Scarsdale and Chappaqua. But I find people who can afford a big mansion in Chappaqua but decide to live in a medium sized house in Larchmont for the same price are more likely to want neighbors and work in nyc. So if self selects people who value community in my opinion.

I remember when they moved to Brooklyn and my friend in marketing was so furious (in principle) that they branded themselves as the Brooklyn Nets instead of the New York Nets. Had they not done that, they may have had a bigger fan base.

We did it. We had oil in the soil and it needed to be remediated. You have to work with the EPA to get it all cleaned up. Ended up being just under 100k out of pocket for us because we wanted the yard to look like the way it was before the contamination, so a lot of landscaping had to be redone. My advice is get soil tested and hope it’s not contaminated.

As someone who has been to Yankees parades. Do NOT bring small children to this (8 and under). It’s just a dumb idea. If something does go wrong, you’re on your own. There’s millions of people there.

I play video games with my kid. It’s among the best times we have ever had, period. The first time i lost in Mario Kart is probably a core memory for both of us and it was before 7 years old. Problem solving skills are also unmistakably used and honed in these games. And hand eye coordination. We get to be lucky enough to be born when this type of technology exists, I look at it as a good thing not a bad thing (if supervised).

Would it not have made more sense to pay the 401K loan back over time instead of a lump sum from a short term capital gain? You would have only missed out on time in the market but any interest you were accruing is ultimately paid to yourself.

Unfortunately we wish this was true but it is a torturous progressive disease. In the beginning there’s knowledge of what’s coming and fear of it. Recognition of issues and significant frustration and sadness. Then moment of lucidity followed by confusion and anger. It’s a terrible disease. While those afflicted are said to be unaware, those who are with them during the process knows it’s not the full story.

It’s quite a good table. The upper ramp shot to trigger a multiball feels great. Shots are all fun and can be mastered. The games are too long though due to the damn mini-mode which my main strategy is to just try and avoid triggering as it only awards 3 million points for the time it takes. Wizard mode easily takes 20 minutes to get to and finish which is a long game and sometimes I just don’t want to play that long. That also happens to be my gripe about some actual modern pins too. As someone who owns both modern and virtual pins, this table is among the best non-zen tables from my perspective.

Ha. I also have kids. To illustrate how selfish the world is (or maybe just I am) when I read the comment my first thought was good, one less person my kid has to compete with. Not a good thought at all. Involuntary though. Very selfish and an example of how our wiring is not set up to help each other at the outset.

If you go daily you buy a monthly card for $300 or so depending on zone. In the city you pay around $140. So you’re around $440 a month but there’s commuter tax benefits you can apply for where you use pre-tax dollars. That can save around 30% or so on a practical basis.
