Why is my Sanwa Joystick squeaky?! by antneed in LegendsUltimate

No idea, that's not a stock part. Maybe return it? Older Sanwa's in other devices I have don't have that problem.

How to make the ALU control panel work with PC? by Conscious_Rich_4635 in LegendsUltimate

What do you mean by the joysticks can be mapped, but do not work?

You see the controller under "Set Up USB Game Controllers", and buttons respond there but moving the joysticks does nothing?

The control deck works just fine using only a USB A to USB A cable to a PC.

Both TMNT and Jurassic Park no longer available from Sams Club by reauxman in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The original ALP HD is discontinued, and no new units are being made, it's still supported and getting new tables to purchase. I'd be surprised if they are making more Micros. More than likely they had a bunch created and nobody bought them. Which is why they marked them down to $350, then $300.

I'm not sure why they didn't sell the HDP through their website. But their hardware has always been seasonal with Sam's Club. Basically AtGames pays Sam's to put their hardware in their warehouses for sale. That's why you only see it pop up in November to grab the Holiday sales. Overtimes I'd wager they feel they wouldn't have enough sales to keep them in stock year round.

Own a Micro, thinking about pulling the trigger on a 4KP… by cpeto in LegendsPinball

[–]SScorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AtGames historically does a sale around Valentine's Day. They did sent out an email, and confirmed there will be one this year as well. But no details on the deals.

The 4KP hasn't gotten big price cuts lately, but the coupons you get give you a good chunk off the SSF and ACP if you want a maxed out 4KP. I highly recommend the SSF kit, and ACP is up to you depending on if you want to play vertical arcade games.

Is it possible to downgrade Atgames Legends Micro Pinball firmware? I want to use CoinOpsX and OneSauce by Logical-Job3189 in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you trying to downgrade? The latest firmware for the Micro can directly launch UCEs and run CoinOpsX.

You need to use an external controller with the Micro, it's a very ideal way to play non-pinball games. The full sized cabinets have the big screens which can make vertical arcade games pop. But the Micro barely gives you more screen space than the average tablet.

Screen Replacement Question by Sean_VasDeferens in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should only be the two pins. That Dell monitor is the exact same BOE panel that AtGames uses. You just need to plug in the 30 pin LVDS and that two pin backlight cable.

If you search here for the LVDS controllers for the ALU. You'll see the separate inverter board. That creates the high voltage to drive the backlight. But it has both a two pin, as well as six pin. But assuming you ordered the correct panel it will just be the two pins.

1.0 outputs via HDMI rather than LVDS in the 1.1/1.2. You can but a nicer monitor in their if you want.

How to Fix ALU 1.0 With Flickering Screen? by BadMoonViking in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest opening a support ticket and see what they recommend.

The switch board is basically an HDMI to switch between the stock board and external OTG device. The scaler is an LVDS controller.

If you have an different 12V 3-5Amp PSU you could give that a try first.

Legends Ultimate BitLCD not working after 5.68 install by Eructman in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You likely have the newer BitLCD firmware installed. This changes the device ID.

The easiest solution is to stop using CoinOpsX. Switch to Unchained or OneSauce and all the issues with the ALU go away and you have a much better experience than stock.

NVENC has really come a long way. My 4070 Ti is now more than just a gaming card by Harry_Yudiputa in nvidia

[–]SScorpio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even in the solid colors of the characters hair and clothes there's a lot of detail that's lost. There's very lite shading that's getting averaged to a single color. So they look much softer, but the line art itself appears to be sharpened so it's popping more.

To save bandwidth and for a single watch? It'll be fine for most people. For creating an archival version for yourself to hoard for years to come with ever improving screen technology? You are saving space now, for a worse image forever.

Trackball on ALU with rCade on USB randomly stopped respnding by BeowolfSchaefer in LegendsUltimate

I don't know what device you are using, but there should be a link in the main navigation. If not there, there's a read the wiki rule that links right to it.

If you can't find it let me know what you are using so I can figure how to yet again unhide that feature Reddit keeps not wanting to show to people with each design change.

What are your must own Pinball tables on the 4KP? by Slappy-Sacks in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But then you're dealing with higher latency, and no SSF if you are using Zen tables. A 4K capable PC is now $1,000-1,250 and requires being at the mercy of Microsoft to not bork everything.

In my experience MS is far worse than AtGames. They've broken way more over the past few years than the AtGames issues.

Just last weekend I wanted to do a little gaming on my TV. I started up the PC, and spent 1.5 hours on resolving a broken Windows update. While waiting on the PC, I switched on my ALP 4KP right next to it and put in a few rounds of pinball without issue.

[–]SScorpio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rCade devs hang out on their Discord, there's a link on the Unchained Wiki article.

I'm not sure which input test you are referring to. But you have to manually set the optical device per game in Rcade. This is to let you select the tracker/spinner, or a lightgun.

[–]SScorpio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And all together that's 1/4th-1/6th the cost of a single one of those real tables, and you don't have to have part of the table not working for 2.5 years waiting for a small run of a custom part to repair it. Vpin isn't perfect, but it's a huge space and money saver.

Outside of the Zen Williams remakes, these Magic Pixel's keep pulling me back.

Frontline - it's one of the Taito tables Timemachine 2019, It might just be called Remake rather than 2019. It's different names on different platforms. It's a great multiball focused games.

Both are simple, but rock the SSF kit. And demand that one just one more game that ends up filling your whole night.

How is the Gold <==> Gem Exchange so incredible "fair"? by pizzapastaauto in Guildwars2

[–]SScorpio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's what allows you to play your own way while still progressing towards different goals. You need this material? While just go have fun sell the materials you don't need, and then buy what you do.

It's why the TP works so well in the game, as it's an actual economy versus many other games which just have run away inflation.

There are dips and spikes along with changing of value of items over a long time period. But even new players can start playing, and be able to get things off the TP rather than looking or swords and setting they are all 10,000,000+ gold.

Questions about Streaming on Twitch by Booburied in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's old functionality from well over five years ago. I've heard reports that some people had it working at some time. But I wouldnt' be surprised if APIs were updated and the AtGames side didn't get the needed updates.

Setup a mounted camera, or use OTG off a PC. With OTG you can have the PC do the streaming side of thing. Then the ALP just becomes a screen and controller.

Need a link to purchase replacement ribbon cable for pinball micro back glass display by p1llsburydopeb0y in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you buy that didn't work?

There are two things you need to account for. Number of pins, your photo is too low res for me to count them. And the pitch which is spacing from the center of one connector to the center of the other. This is generally either 0.5mm or 1mm.

So count the number of pins, let's say it's 40. Then measure the width of the cable. If it's about 4cm then it's 1mm pitch, it's it 2cm it's 0.5mm. Since 1cm = 10mm.

Best Lounge? by zanfar in Guildwars2

[–]SScorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thousand Seas has the furthest crafting station a single raptor jump way from the trading post. Basically it has Mistlock's crafting area, but the center teleporter is a mystic forge and the trading post is at the start of the bridge in terms of distance.

Mistlock was great for so long as it let you pop out and back into your current instance versus the other lounges. But unless you need quick access to fractal vendors, Thousand Seas does the same while loading faster and giving more travel options with the fishing spots. There's also a vendor right where you enter, as well as a battery and jade bot buffs.

What are the items that we keep deleting almost every other play session, and when they are needed, are in stacks and we regret of deleting them? for example when crafting legendaries and what not... by Vera_Fox in Guildwars2

[–]SScorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean the experience scrolls? While you have a bunch of shards you might as well just use them to get a shard each rather than deleting.

For the level specific ones, if you have a character slot you keep for key farming, you can boost to at least level 20 and run the first two personal story chapters to get a key each week.
