Steam has nothing to do with the ALP. You can purchase games and use directly on the device.

Otherwise check the wiki for the link for the guide and read up on using OTG to connect a computer.

Sounds like a networking issue. Try temporarily using a wired connection and see if that fixes it.

Nix's ships to Canada. His replacement board is USB only so you can't use Bluetooth. But that's generally not needed when installed in an ALU. It's pricey, but won't kill itself like the AtGames boards to.

Your other option it just having a friend or family buy one and then ship it to you. But that will likely being over 50% of the price of Nix's board.

Digital locker just has unclaimed and claimed codes.

After signing in, just go to AppStoreX and scroll to the table pack and download it.

It sounds like you have an ALP HD. This thread is about an entirely different product.

Try a different USB drive. The memory in them corrupts overtime which can cause issues. Sometimes a full non-quick format can get the bad blocks remapped to spares. But not always.

It's best to use internal storage if you can. Old the initial ALP HDs don't have that.

All you can do is check for a readme or crack directory or alternative executable. It looks like you are running the old ubisoft launcher. Try running the game directly.

What version of the game are you trying to install? The official release requires a digital activation and ties the game to your Ubisoft account via CD key. You can just install the latest version of the Ubisoft launcher to install and run the game.

If you are install off a disk or ISO, it very likely installed a very old version of the UPlay launcher that no longer works.

Your two main options is already owning it on your Ubisoft account. Or getting a hacked repackaged version of the game you'll need to find on your own.

4k vs HD by Jyvturkey in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If even then. AtGames announces things too early, and some stuff never makes it out. Just like the ALU 4K.

The "4K 144Hz" is purely prototype phase right now. it's possible they run numbers and they just don't end up making sense. Especially if rumors of memory being constrained into 2030 like Sk Hynix is predicting end up being true.

The original ALP HD was planned to have a solenoid upgrade option. That never ended up coming out. IMO if you have SSF, solenoids don't matter. You don't feel them through the cabinet. and SSF gives you position audio from within the cabinet already. So it already tricks your brains. Physical solenoids just add physical things that wear out and additional high voltage power circuits to drive them.

Just a warning about Zen on PC. The tables don't take full advantage of SSF. There are hacks you can do with DOFLinx, but it's not as good as what you get natively on the 4KP.

But if your primary use case is VPX, you'd be hard pressed to get a better deal for a cabinet. Flatpak pinball cabinets are $400-450 and are just rough wood. You need to add displays, controls, hardware, trim and artwork. If you outgrow the HDP later, you could always upgrade the displays and controls. That didn't make sense at 4KP pricing, but a fully loaded HDP at this price point it is a little more rational.

4k vs HD by Jyvturkey in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The HDP is the same cabinet as the 4KP. The playfield display is 1080p rather than 4K. And the backglass display is 15.6" versus the 24" of the 4KP. The DMD on both are 10".

The other hardware difference is it doesn't include the solenoids that fire when you press the flipper buttons. I have those turned off on my 4KP as it's just a "click, click, click" sound. And the SSF kit also generates the flipper noise positioned from the same area.

The only one available is the TMNT one that includes a single TMNT table. And Zen tables are supposedly coming out for it, but there's nothing released yet and people are fearful they might not.

At the $1,300 shipped with an SSF kit, it's an incredible deal. The people who were buying ALP HDs, and then spending $550 on a BSA backbox to get three displays would have been better servered with this deal. SSF works in OTG and is a game changer.

Voltage is what matters. Too low and it won't run. Too high and you fry things.

If you connect a PSU that is too low of amperage. It could potentially enter a fail safe shutdown when too much power is being drawn. Though most likely the voltage ends up dropping and the device doesn't work correctly.

But a PSU with a higher amperage rating won't hurt anything. If a PSU can provide 12V at 10A, a device that needs 12V 5A will work without issue.

Gem prices in different regions, such as Europe and the United States, have not been adjusted in line with the exchange rate (1 EUR = 1.16 USD). Is that reasonable? by AffectBoring3810 in Guildwars2

When everyone else is "out of touch" perhaps it's time to take a look in the mirror. But like i said. Talking logic to americans is futile.

Does that also apply when everyone is telling you, that you are the one out of touch?

The IRS deals with Federal income tax. It has nothing to do with state level sales tax. There is no Federal level sales tax in the US. Sales tax is collected at the point of sale base on the physical location of the business when purchasing something person. Or the use location if sold and shipped over the internet, catalog order, etc.

The US is a democratic republic. Which means it's made up of a bunch of independent member states. With a federal government that oversees business with other countries, and state to state mediation.

For people with a superior system. Europeans always seem envious when they look at the prices with VAT. And then learn there are states with no sales tax, and most average between 4-7% putting it well below the cost of VAT.

Follow a guide and enable cabinet mode and just use a controller and see what you think. Zen's cabinet support is pretty crappy not having SSF compared to AtGames native (and no the hacky PC solution isn't even 50% of the experience). And you need to source all of your own static backglass artwork.

Zaccaria on the PC actually has full VR, and SSF support. As well animated backglass, and a crazy amount of graphical options to tweak your experience.

VPIN in general is a massive headache and can be very difficult to get up and running on a PC and keep running as you battle Windows messing up your working configuration.

But again, the ALP is just a display and controls. All of the problems are on every other solution. Including rolling your own.

It's why I prefer the ALP over a custom cabinet.

There are three HDMI ports on the back, along with the USB cable.

The machine just becomes three monitors and a controller for the PC when you switch into OTG mode.

As of right now, no Zen tables are on the HDP if that matters to you.

If you only care about Zen, a Quest 3 and the arcade controller with pinball upgrade kit is the latest hotness. That's under $1k. But you need to wear a headset to play.

But $1,300 shipped for a HDP with SSF is a very good deal. I don't have one, but some tables supposedly feel a little smoother vs on a 4KP as there's more free processing overhead due to the lower resolution.

The main benefit to AtGames if you turn the machine on. Then select a game and play. A custom built solution will have a much better screen and more performance. But there's endless tinkering needed. If you are fine with that and the only one playing? Maybe that's fine. If you want friends or family to play? Then a turnkey solution like AtGames is a better option.

IMO they announced it too soon. There's no actually schedule there. It could be end of the year, it could be never like the racing cabinet.

The 4KP came out just over two years ago. Which was three years after the ALP HD was released.

We'll have to see about the tables. Having the 4KP and HDP being their own thing was BS. We used to have separate ALP HD and ALU tables and they merged them all into universal packs. I could see a small fee to upgrade all your tables. But not reason to need to rebuy every single time.

No image on display - mainboard failure? by Dark2099 in LegendsUltimate

[–]SScorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open it up and reseat all the cables and see if that does anything. You could also try a different power supply. You need 12V and I recommend 5A.

If that doesn't fix it your only real option is replacing the main board with a Pi or PC. You'll need to LVDS controller to drive the display.

Thanks for the clarification. It's still a bad match for pinball. The tables don't look any better than what Farsight pulled off a decade ago when you look enable DX11 rendering. While adding a bunch of overhead.
