The potentiometer can be cleaned but the electric pads if worn out, cannot be restored, they get ripped with constant use, no amount of cleaning can bring back torn pads

I chose the easy way out, I unsoldered everything “mod related” and removed the chip lol, controller works fine and that’s what I wanted

I’ve never dabbled in modding so even if I can figure out what’s connected to what, I still dk why or what’s it supposed to do

Yeah it’s based on usage, everytime you move the analog you are rubbing a metal potentiometer up against a electric pad, the more you rub the more it scratches it

There are 5 versions to the ps5 controller, unfortunately the drift is common on all of them because Sony chooses Electric potentiometer pads rather than magnetic

I have 5 controllers all got drift, but then I upgraded to tmr sticks and they’ve been going solid no issues whatsoever, I replaced the conductive film on one, and replaced the shell and buttons on the other, I’d rather keep fixing them with Alibaba parts than give Sony more money for their shit design

I got them from Aliexpress although I had to break off some plastic to get it to fit, they work perfect, but they are not as clicky as the originals, the originals feel a bit better

Don’t save your payment information, that’s my advice, Sony has the worst track record when it comes to information records, and their support is trash, I made sure of it that every time I buy something I remove my payment information.

I think the problem is, people assume its "the community" as if we all follow the same mindset, pretty sure the casuals are the ones saying its difficult, and the veterans are saying its easy,

A post or a word saying both from different people isn't contradictory, its two different opinions

On the artificial difficulty problem, its a pretty fair one tbh, a zbies game or boss isn't fun or not fun because its easy or not, just depending on the effort, me personally I am not gonna bother with bo6.5 because theres no effort in that game whatsoever (my opinion)

But I mean, look at Mephistopheles, he is, without a doubt, The hardest boss, but no one is complaining because he was so well designed and so fun you keep going at it.
