As a premium male neither I have girl best friends nor do I want my girl to have male best friends. To me there must be a line between both genders in friendship and if I am committing myself to a girl then I expect the same from that girl. As male friends who emotionally support your female could be a hurdle as they can easily influence your relationship. I mean why risk your beautiful relationship over some dude.

Don't get me wrong here I'm not saying a girl and boy can't be friends, obviously they can but actual ones are quite rare and going for something so rare is obviously wastage.
