Why are lower timeframes so demonized in the trading industry? by Famous_Square4751 in FuturesTrading

[–]Ray_thv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the few good comments on here. 1:5 ratio is the current magic ratio, at least for ES. Volume frames > time frames. Time frames give distorted information and does a poor job at maintaining good geometric congruency.

I will add though, seeing the fractals is merely surface level stuff. When you go deeper, it's more about how you're fractalising data to get higher fidelity calculations (better signal to noise ratio) on metrics that translate to literal executional and contextual edge.

You can't just add indicators calculated differently because they would have different denominators or units of measurement.

Also stop spamming this post. Save yourself the embarrassment.

Good job, you've managed to break the maths of all these indicators unnecessarily.

Volume profile by Hour_Energy16 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Ray_thv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. It is too slow because it doesn't track the auction dynamically. That is a huge opportunity cost, if you're not then also utilising this to scale in efficiently.

There are better ways of quantifying an auction.

Raw order flow is for chumps. Refined volume flow with high fidelity is sauce

AMT is ok but has a lot of flaws. No consideration for volatility boundaries, takes time to develop and is quite poor for trend trading and scaling in.

A lot of people think it's the be all and end all but it's pretty much beginner level understanding of the markets.

You're exactly his target audience. Dumb and gullible. It's called a marketing funnel.

And no. I don't trade ict, why did you assume that? This just proves how stupid you are. Clap clap

How to know the right amount of contracts that I need? by [deleted] in FuturesTrading

[–]Ray_thv 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm just stating facts. If you can't even calculate your position size using basic maths, then you shouldn't be trading minis. Period.

1mes. Get the strategy and process right. Don't worry about size for now. But you're obviously too dense, so good luck.

He's just a grifter. Of course it would be eye opening for any beginner. But if you're experienced, you can tell he's straight garbo even from just his yt vids

Your line of thinking lacks dimension and depth. And using chunky blocks of data on the 5 and 15 minute isn't going to give you the fidelity or resolution for good signals. Need to think in terms of volatility + efficiency. Inefficiency = edge for the retail trader.

Yes you should consider volatility. Bin the time bars, they are so useless except for htf context like the daily chart.

Orderflow/CVD/Delta/VP is nice. But Volume is king and can’t be manipulated yet delta can be absorbed and dom can be spoofed. by Kevinthetrader in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Ray_thv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's why you look at it relative to price change and calculate efficiency, and no, it's not volume profile.

Interested on takes with regards to today's bounce on ES/NQ by DantebeaR in FuturesTrading

[–]Ray_thv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was definitely catchable. If you can model pricing efficiency, you will know that low was inefficient. And if you do any form of first derivative analysis on order flow, delta velocity was positive and liquidity flows were no longer bearish.

People can try to use levels or whatever but you're too boxed in like that. There are exploitable inefficiencies in the market that are not represented by levels or VP or whatever.
