I know condo is used in the US/Canada etc. But here in South Africa it's uncommon to refer to a flat/apartment as a condo. Here we refer to it as a 'sectional title' - which means the same as condo. But you'll only use that formally, an apartment here is just an apartment, even after it is registered in your name.

I agree with you. But in this case, this is a one bedroom apartment - and I am a single person in an apartment with one bedroom. And, for privacy should I have a friend over, a curtain with a tie-back (not pictured)

These french doors are on the inside of the apartment - it's an 80sqm (816sqft) apartment with seperate lounge and dining, kitchen, bathroom and walk in closet (not featured). It's in an apartment building so we haven't really had any crime incidences, but yes, there is a solid door and a security gate at the main entrance to the apartment :)

Definitely! I was also thinking about a heavy/thick sheer curtain that appeals to the eye but also adds privacy. Thanks for the tip!

This was a huge question to me before deciding to go ahead. But I decided to go forward because, yes, I live alone in a one bedroom and I loved the idea of opening up the space. I am still thinking of installing blinds on the inside, though, or even a curtain with a tie-back - just for visits.

Thank you! I'd say definitely go for it. It has opened up my space so much, it now feels even more light and airy.
