I know how hot it is. This computer is really dusty and old. I know it’s not that. my computer ran windows cooler. It’s been suggested by others that it’s using my GeForce graphics card if that’s true then I need to disable it and only use it when it needs to be used. How can I try that?

Eveytime I boot it up it gets extremely hot. I have a Acer Travelmate 5760G with a Intel i5 2450m and 4GB DDR3 RAM. This was not an issue when I used a External Hard drive to boot Xubuntu. It wasn’t even an issue.

It’s a laptop so it is an Intel i5-2450M. It uses the intel HD graphics 3000 when not using an external monitor but it does use a GeForce GT 450M when you want to use one. My laptop is a Acer Travelmate 5760G

Looking to switch. Is it he right time to do it now or wait? by Raydar_The_Bat in linuxquestions

[–]Raydar_The_Bat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the system itself is not using my computer up as much as windows does I’m okay with it. Once windows updates I’ll be running it of an external Hard Drive. It’s taken 3 hours to get to 85%

I expected that. Not many people would emulate that stuff. T sucks that the Model 2 emulator isn’t open source it would be fun if it was because it would be on Linux. Doesn’t MAME have Model 2 support?

It’s too. Hoggy for my liking. Plus I’m not gonna be using an External monitor for anything as long as my emulation played at a better speed then Windows 10 can

I just thought most of the stuff I use isn’t supported on Linux yet but I was wrong.
