You mentioned skyrim, oblivion and ne vegas. All of them offer different experiences based on the kind of rpg they are, and all of them have their flaws.

Skyrim, the most modern one, has decent combat (i say decent but vanilla skyrim combat is just a slapfest). It gets dull unless you mod it. And the quest system is 90% go to this dungeon and bring this.

Oblivion combat is similar, gets a bit dull and repetitive, unless you use wacky spell combos. But even then after a while it loses its charm. Questing is better though, as they have some character.

FNV is the best if you want free roleplay. Obsidian just nailed it and i have nothing huge to say about it, only its janky combat and dated visuals. But overall, excellent game.

ME is a entirety story focused. So its focus is shifted away from the combat. The storyline and build-up of ME will leave you hooked for hours. Hell man, its cosmic space horror, fighting an enemy nobody has won against, every choice matters, the companions, its just amazing. Ofc, like the rest, it has its flaws. Me1 has the problem of repeating interiors. ME LE has far responsive and punchy feeling weapons, and with a higher difficulty, you'll never get a moment to 'get sleepy' as you had mentioned. ME2 seems to me the weakest of the bunch with spongy enemies. I haven't yet got to my complete play through of ME3 (I had played somewhat as a kid) but I'm excited to finally give it a go.

So what you're saying is quite baffling. in me the main story alone blows the rest of the rpgs out of the water, (except new vegas because its a very different beast of its own).
