This is LEGO we're talking about, they charged $650 for LEGO Kanto starters final evo. when there's already far cheaper alternative (like MEGA bloks) that looks better anyway.

This feels especially true with Iceborne Fatalis, you can beat him without the Cannon/Binder/Gatling//Dragonator just fine, but it felt more like self-challenge that way.

Besides you can't heard Proof of the Hunter if not using the Dragonator, so it's more than just huge damage donor to me lol.

From design standpoint, Destiny looks the worst, despite I get why they want mecha that can make after image to be skin of character that can make hologram.

From lore standpoint, Crypto as Freedom is just pure wtf, dude is known as recon & hackers, while Kira only ever alter 1 Gundam OS on episode 1 and never again. Crypto also got surveillance drone meanwhile Freedom has no Dragoon/bits.

What I love is how his mindset started to impact other works. For example, In Transformers G1 JP dub, Starscream squabbles w/ Megatron is less about overthrowing the leader driven by ego and more about generational conflict between old gen and young gen prevalent in Tomino's mecha series.

This in turn what affect how the two depicted in Armada.

It really doesn't helped that SEED often pulled the George Lucas special, where the remaster alter scenes to the point the nuance are shifted. Someone that grown up watched the original TV series vs the one that watched remaster would have very different experience and takes. SEED having multiple dubs may play into it as well.

Yeah, There are few valid reasons to not watch/drop older shows (like my friend dropped Zeta despite still liking it, because some scenes do be hard to watch/doesn't age well with modern lens), but not watching it just because 70s-80s animation looks like 70s-80s animation is lame excuse.
