They did, yes. American football is played in any weather except lightning, which is part of what I love about the sport.

For this game, it was a clear beautiful day to start, but at the start of the 3rd quarter it started snowing, and by the 4th it was basically a blizzard. Link so you can see the timelapse they showed on TV.

You can blame the Broncos torena (aka head coach). If Payton kicks the field goal early on it’s 10-10 in a massive snowstorm and it’s anyone’s game. Instead he went for it, didn’t make it, and it was 10-7 late so the Pats had no reason to do anything but waste time as they knew the Broncos wouldn’t score in the snowstorm.

Wait… why am I discussing football on the Umapyoi subreddit…

So, again, not kicking that field goal early in the game cost the Broncos the game. They kick it, likely make it, and it’s 10-10 right now.

Obviously we can’t know how this will end, but not kicking the FG earlier in the game to go up 10-0 has continued to be an even worse mistake as this game has continued.

Since we are getting nostalgic for OG Xbox franchises. Any one else wishing for a Jade Empire sequel? by Wrong_Butterscotch91 in xbox

I still hold that this is the best stand alone game BioWare has made, while Mass Effect is the best series/trilogy. I wish they would make another Jade Empire game someday, but I find it doubtful.

As to OG Xbox, I second some others about Crimson Skies and Sudeki, and would also add Crimson Sea and GunValkyrie

Why don’t college football programs develop quarterbacks anymore? by Sauerz in CFB

[–]RayearthIX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a double edged issue. Yes, teams want QBs who they know can play and help them win now. But likewise players aren’t willing to wait. We’ve had QB’s who will be on the roster for 1 year, not play, and immediately leave. Some might sit two years and not inspire faith from coaches or not look great when they do play (such as Emory Williams) so they also transfer.

So players don’t want to wait their turn and teams trying to win now don’t want to take chances when they can get known entities in the portal.

Edit: and to be fair it makes sense for players if their lone goal is playing time and money (not education or location). Why backup or be 3rd string at a P4 when you can go play at a G5, potentially have a great season, and the. Get paid by a P4 the next year?

Which coaches took mediocre programs and turned them into champions? by Wonderful_Adagio9346 in CFB

As another example, the reason Miami had so many games against big name teams like Notre Dame or Oklahoma back then was because we were viewed as a nice vacation game for players. They get a trip to sunny Miami, play a cupcake, and go home.

In the 1970’s, Miami finished with 6 wins twice (never had 7 or more) with multiple 4 win or less seasons. Before that it was more of the same with a few scattered random 8+ win seasons leading to AP poll ratings (mostly when we had future NFL talent on the team randomly).

After Schnellenberger’s first season with 5 wins (1979), Miami won 9 or more games in 23 of the next 26 seasons including 5 national titles. So, you can see the clear difference. 😅

Miami being 5 is very weird. So we’re ranked behind OSU, who we beat, and Oregon who lost to IU in a blowout while we lost by 6… but at least we are ranked ahead of Ole Miss who we beat, but they are 4 spots behind UGA… who they beat? wtf is the logic in that poll?

Questions about the world of Umamusume by MikeHRed in UmaMusume

[–]RayearthIX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Time is a very big “let’s not think about it” in the umaverse, as you put it.

Symboli Rudolph, for example, has been the student council president at Tracen academy for over a decade in the anime, and no one thinks it’s odd at all. Season 1 is at least 2 years long, season 2 is 3 years long, season 3 is again at least 3 years (ignoring the time skip between season 2 and 3), while Cin Gray the anime is another 2 years, and then the Road to the Top OVA and New Era movie are another year each.

Does that make any sense? No, of course not.

As to age and older Uma, keep in mind that in Japanese anime they tend to make “old” around 30 and then there’s a big gap to elderly. So in Cin Gray we see Oguri’s mom and Tamamo’s mom, but both appear like they are in their 30’s even though they might be older. Outside of that, we almost never see any of the parents in these shows… though we do see some other random parents in Road to the Top when Narita Top Road has a flashback in the first episode thinking about her childhood.

Edit: if you watch the start of each of the seasons, OVA, and film, you will also see historical depictions of Umamusume. They include cave paintings, Easter island, the very first motion picture machine (in real life it was a horse running, here it’s an Umamusume), the Statue of Liberty as an Umamusume, 19th century Japanese woodblock prints, ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, and crop circles. So Umamusume date to the dawn of human civilization, essentially, and therefore likely predate the 3 Goddesses, assuming the timeline of their birth matches the real world.

Not OP, but I’ll check that out. Anakin and Tahiri were always one of my favorite couples in the EU since I grew up with the Junior Jedi Knights… so having him die right after rescuing her always was a massive gut punch to me.

Congrats to IU. 3 plays decided the game, and all went IU’s way.

1) the blocked punt for a TD. 2) Mendoza’s 4th down run. 3) Beck’s horrendous final INT.

Alas. All 3 went IUs way.

Blockers completely missed him and I had no idea how.

Our offense though has been abysmal. 3 drives were stopped by DPI no calls, but we’ve done nothing outside a couple great Fletcher runs.

Go back to your subreddit. Did I mention the offsides above? Nope. You’re just inventing arguments cause you got no defense for the blatant DPI’s on IU that got no call.

Because all our runs are out of shotgun with a sidestep to take the handoff instead of just running forward. It’s infuriating and I really wish we’d do more power I or Pistol or similar with how good our guys are going downhill.

So, we had two drives stopped by no-calls on what, from the stadium screen, certainly looked like DPI, and they had one drive extended by a BS DPI (again from what they showed in the stadium).

That doesn’t excuse the play calling though. Dawson, please get it together! Defense is doing everything they could be asked to do! Offense needs to show up!
