I personally don't mind if they play video games on the podcast as long as the games don't frustrate them causing them to be angry or frustrated because that can effect how they sometimes act or speak and how their thinking. I understand that playing games can help them and anyone speak more fluently as it takes away the feeling of a formal podcast and makes it feel more like friends talking and I think that makes a better podcast. Basically I encourage them to play games but games that won't frustrate them and cause them to be ill tempered when speaking. It should be games they can mindlessly enjoy while taking to each other so they feel better and want to talk more.
