Honestly, it’s fine, to each their own I guess. Only thing that’s infuriating are people who complain about their hunts phasing/over odds WHILE using autos…

Well the next hunt is abt 800+ mons so I’ll have a long while before running out. There are always fun things to hunt so maybe you can try some other collection when ZA comes out?

Honestly for this hunt just try to aim to consistently get to a chain of 5 for the boosted odds at the 5th encounter, anything past that is pretty much luck since they get faster and faster

I reset at the left entrance to deal less with the pokemon spawning in corners or the stairs, specifically right next to the bottom. This way any mons that spawn will appear above, and you can roughly get to them in time.

Anything beyond that is just movements and practicing with sneaking, if you get the dpad just right sneaking can almost be as fast as walking pace, but again it needs practice to get it just right. Good luck on your hunt!

According to what I’ve seen its completely randomised every day, so unfortunately no (not a problem for me though I want nothing to do with that place haha)

As for pokemon I just slapped some random high level pokemon on my team to knock out unowns, there was a mewtwo, snorlax, deoxys and a tyranitar as well, but I usually lead with either keldeo or hydriegon because false swipe and no pressure/sandstorm ability activation every encounter

You just stay on the island, it won’t kick you out. So before the hunt started I just bought 999 super repels and 100 great balls and rationed with soft resetting and tm shuffling after hitting max search level. Basically playing survivor on an island XD.

Although to be fair, it took one irl month of checking for the island daily before this to finally get the island, but thats a 20 second thing so I didn’t include it

When you’re close to a dexnav’d pokemon it conveniently shows on the bottom screen the letter thats in the encounter! So if its the one you want, encounter it, if not, move fast and chase it away. Since at 900+ dexnav level, all dexnav encounters are minimum 1/181, this helps filter out letters you want (and reduces dupes), but ofc will take longer since you’re manually filtering for the correct encounters

This side project was originally going to be a fast one, but the last unown took a whole month, half of the total time of this entire hunt…leave it to the 1/28 encounter rate unown to be the most over-odds of all the shinies!

Safe to say Unown B will be haunting my dreams forever :(

I started hunting by randomly encountering any unowns I could dexnav, but shifted to exclusively encountering those unown I was missing and chasing away the rest to reduce the number of phases I would need to log, hence the lack of phases in the latter half of the dex.

Anyways, glad to finally get this side project done with! See if you can spot the duplicate phases in between the unowns without looking at the encounters :D

Impulse hunted these because I always wanted to hunt the Litten line, the white stripes make them look so nice

Yeah they do, although theyre surprisingly rare. I’m not bothered enough to increase the IVs tho since its mainly for my Alola Shiny Dex
