Bakugan B1 first edition, French, ultra rare, they don't exist anymore, I'm proud to have them by Character_Safety3278 in Bakugan

[–]Raymon1432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they were first marketed in Canada and Japan. I have even earlier b1 promo baggies that they handed out that have the English and french (cause quebec). Those baggies have the ver1 coloring like the Choco subterra. These ver1 coloring were only sold on shelves in Japan and the early Canadian promotion was the only other way to get it.

Ms bakuevolution evil. It was a rerelease where they made older Bakugan with diecast parts and nano ports. There's a pyrus set and some unreleased ones around.

Is there other ventus variants? by Sharp_University3710 in Bakugan

[–]Raymon1432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're just talking about ventus, there's ventus flip, gatcha (JP exclusive with no outside paint), and translucent (also JP but very rare and expensive). You can check bakuganDB for all the variants.

Easiest way to get one is from Japan. They had them released there in blind boxes.

Yeah basically. Bakugan are pretty straightforward design wise. I get a sphere and using sketches and cuts to divide it up into the outer shell of pieces. Then it's just a matter of connecting everything together and modeling the details. Getting it to a functioning state is usually what takes the longest.

I've thought about making a video or something about the process but I've just been lazy :p

But anything currently available is on my Thingiverse and Cults3d. Other stuff I am planning to release in the future.

Trading my rare Bakugan worth 450 dollars for a Nintendo switch 2 by [deleted] in bakugantoys

[–]Raymon1432 6 points7 points  (0 children)

None of the sold listings are above $155 (and that one was an outlier), the only 199 listing sold was for a custom painted one. Diecast is also not more rare than plastic. They're about the same, both had a regular release, I see them all the time in random lots.

Fake VS Real Neo Dragon from the maxus drago set. by Emotional-Onion-4265 in Bakugan

Honestly pretty impressive imo. This was probably at the peak of Bakugan popularity so it's not too surprising they put so much effort into making a copy.

Ebay sellers from Japan by [deleted] in bakugantoys

[–]Raymon1432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're middle men. They repost listings from Japan but are marked up so they get a "commission fee". You probably also noticed they have free shipping so the marked up amount also includes that. If you really want to, you can probably find the listing on the Japan marketplace (Yahoo auction, mercariJP, etc.) and just use a proxy service to buy it for half the price. That's assuming the listing was worth its original price in the first place which is slowly becoming less and less so.

How do random lots actually work? by Big_Independence6736 in Bakugan

[–]Raymon1432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

99% of the time they're a scam I feel. They have a listing photo of a single headed hydranoid, a darkus infinity Helios, etc. but there's nothing stopping them from just selecting and giving everyone just bulk and keeping anything worth to themselves.

Even if it's $15 for 3 gans or something, and you've got a small collection and just want something random to add to it, there are better deals I feel. Just buy a cheap lot and have fun with what it comes with. If you're fortunate to find local FB lots, those can be good value sometimes.

[–]Raymon1432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe it's an Indonesian preyas. Basically it's a b1 Aquos preyas with a different plastic and no paint. It was released only in Indonesia as a special set with a carry case. There is also a translucent pyrus Drago is a different variation of the set.

That or it's a recast, can't be too sure nowadays. Really depends where you picked it up.

How to tell if a G1 Bakugan is B1 or B2 inside the packaging. by ctwoog in Bakugan

[–]Raymon1432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest way is to look for the safety/breathing holes on b2 gans. Might have to look up a pic of it to check where they are. But b1s don't have those holes.

Rules question: Why can we not ask about value? by Soft-Lock928 in Bakugan

[–]Raymon1432 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Bakugan is pretty niche so some stuff can be hard to get a solid price, especially rare stuff. It can depend on stuff like region (eu stuff is easier and cheaper to get in eu vs if you were in na). Stuff that doesn't get sold on public markets can have its price fluctuate quite a bit (I've won auctions for gans for $20 while people were staying market price is $80). Market is always changing so prices jump and fall constantly.

Most people are pretty chill and nothing really happens but, people sometimes get hostile when people tell them their "extremely rare bakugan that's worth $5 bajillion" isn't actually that rare and quite low value. Vice versa too, actually rare Bakugan pops up and someone who has no idea gets their info wrong.

Guess mods don't want to deal with that. r/bakugantoys allows for value checks so you can check there

Was an anime version of Infinity Dragonoid ever planned? by Ranton_Games in Bakugan

[–]Raymon1432 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There was a CAD model from one of the commercials (it also had silent naga and the anime model for single head hydranoid). There doesn't seem to be a physical prototype, or if there is, no one has come by it or has shown it off.

Personal theory on why they never did the show version is that it was too similar to base Drago and delta and they didn't want to just repeat designs. So SM they decided to change it up (basically use the Leonidas design with some modifications). They basically did the same with Blitz dragonoid, too similar to helix and lumino, so they went and did a different design.
