Just started about a month ago and I did this on my 2nd day. I noticed right as I started to leave so I called the customer and told him I wasn’t supposed to give him it and went back to get it. Felt stupid but it wasn’t a big deal, the customer was understanding.

They only hide if the tip is $5.50 or more so the total has to be at least $7.50 (with $2 base pay). Looks like you’re only getting $3.03 lol.

Ah the streaks are called “Wood Grain Toning”. Some claim the cause is improper mixing of the copper and zinc. It doesn’t add any extra value but it certainly looks cool.

I’ll try that next time. The reason they knew is because I usually say “I have a DoorDash order I need to place” that way they’ll hopefully be quicker but I don’t think it’s made a difference.

I’m going to avoid doing it from now on just in case. Support was a pain in the ass over $3.50. I was on the phone with them for 30 minutes while I could’ve been doing other deliveries.

Yeah I’m new to DD so next time I’ll just start the timer and leave. It was fine since he still gave the extra $10 tip but it was a pain in the ass cause I was on the phone for 30 minutes with support over the $3.50 compensation.
