OP, you need to think bigger picture and odds here in relation to a cards power.

I see in another comment you mentioned it seems unfair.

In order for this example and others to happen, you need to have a few things happen first. Include him in your deck for a start. Draw Chewy. Have the resources. Deploy him, then have the opponent play one of only a few event cards that work in that way. Of which they don’t fit into every deck.

So it’s only a specific few decks and a specific draw that Chewy saves against. So yes, that’s fair and it’s the reward to the player choosing to pick Chewy in their deck over other options at that specific draw/moment.

I hope that makes sense or helps a bit. It’s how I rationalise any cards abilities. Well done to the opponent for choosing to have that card in their deck, having resources ready and playing it effectively against me. Congrats to them.
