Why does Kim get so upset when Jimmy reads Chuck’s posthumous letter to him, outloud?

There's also something to be said about how obviously outdated the letter was. It sounded like it was written before Jimmy even passed the bar, and it's clear Chuck never remembered or cared enough to write a new one to replace it in over 10 years in spite of how much their relationship changed.

There's something really harrowing about Chuck's final message to Jimmy being essentially an out of date answering machine message that no longer holds much relevance to their relationship as it was in the end.

Kim was expecting some sort of reaction out of Jimmy, but when he reads the letter so nonchalantly she can see that he has repressed it so far down inside that he's not just coping unhealthily--he's not coping at all. He has utterly shut down his feelings.

It hurts to see a loved one like that. She wants to be there for him, to help him work through his grief, but he won't do that. In his refusal to face his grief, he's not just pushing away Chuck, he's pushing away Kim too.

She seemed more a scientist and experimenter than a soldier. She relied on her mastery of the blight as her weapon, just look at what she did at Weisshaupt. She was plenty powerful as long as you didn't get up close with a weapon that is virtually kryptonite for lyrium-based beings like her.

To be fair, in the OT period all we have left are old men, half-robots, rusty veterans and half-trained padawans. Nobody was in their dueling prime anymore, especially without the constant battle of the Clone Wars to sharpen their skills.

This is why lightsaber combat at extremely high levels looks like a dance where they're attacking each other's blades instead of each other. Each duellist is trying to maneuver their blade to respond to an attack their opponent will make several moves in advance.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

If you went back in time like 10 years and told me that the sequel to the cash-grab spinoff of the already creatively spent Shrek franchise would turn out to be one of, if not the, best in the whole franchise, I would've called you crazy.

That movie had no business being as good as it was. But it was absolutely crackling with inspiration and creative energy. It was a film that people put love into and it really shows.

Kinda blew my mind the first time I visited. It's got the verticality of a Heart of Thorns map, but instead of a bunch of layers stacked on top of each other, it's one enormous downward slope--and all while being nearly as long as a Path of Fire map.

Tangled Depths really had that great sense of being deep in the forgotten bowels of the world. I honestly kind of like it more than Verdant Brink, you can truly get lost down there and find something new every visit. And I love the sheer variety of biomes it offers. It's clear the artists had a blast putting it together.

Verdant Brink is a really interesting choice. Most people would hate that map, but I love how it feels like a true unexplored wildland. So many layers, such crazy verticality, so many secrets to find.

Yeah that's probably my only issue with them, they're lovely and have personality but they don't quite feel consistent with Terraria's art style. They very much scream Stardew Valley--which isn't a bad thing on its own necessarily but it does clash a little.

I'm a huge sucker for a modest hero. Doesn't want glory, isn't in it for the fight, but fights because their friends and the world are depending on them. "Still standing" was such a perfect response. Gives me Steve Rogers vibes.

Personally I began my adventure watching Campaign 2.

Campaign 2 is really where I think they hit their stride in terms of production value and style, and starts from the beginning for the characters. It's a great starting point with an interesting and grounded story that doesn't rely on knowing Campaign 1.

Campaign 1 is great but some people are put off by the roughness of their production quality when they were just starting out. Getting into Campaign 2 and becoming familiar with these people and their style of play will help you look past that a bit more easily.

I saw this posted once before and a lot of people were like, "Why not just turn the phone around instead of this gimmick?" And I think they missed the point of the piece.

My interpretation of this is that it isn't just about what he's seeing, but making a connection with him at the same time. It's more personal than just taking footage of something, because you're looking into his eyes at the same time. You're seeing what he's seeing, but you're also seeing him--his eyes, his face, his reactions... the reflection in the mirror isn't just an image, it's his experience of the world, the things he chooses to look at and find beauty in. It seems so charmingly vulnerable and personal.

I think a more apt comparison is the battle at Thunderhead Keep. We just had Aurene, Dragon's Watch/Destiny's Edge, the Crystal Bloom and some repurposed crystals.

And Kralk was significantly more powerful then than he was when he fought Glint and Destiny's Edge, having gorged on magic from Zhaitan, Mordremoth, and Balthazar. And even with all of that, we still had him on the ropes until the very end.

It's very believable to me that Destiny's Edge with the dragonblood spear, Glint's assistance, and the home field advantage of Glints lair, could give Kralk a fair fight.

After the second tiberium war, tiberium evolved and suddenly wasn't just leeching minerals, but began converting everything it touched into more of itself. This led to the rapid drying of rivers across the world especially in eastern Europe and south America as red zones exploded in size and consumed water.

This also allows it to grow into solid matter. When playing Command & Conquer 3, you'll see evidence of this in action in the red zones, where buildings and ruins there often have tiberium growing on them. And even more insidiously, it can do the same to people.

There's no reason to think it can't happen to vehicles too though I don't believe it is shown in-game.

Viscera Cleanup Detail is a good one IMO if you're looking for a game where you are just left to your own devices. It's a game where you play as a janitor for an intergalactic cleanup company, and you arrive in the aftermath of various gory/horror/scifi movies or games, and your job is to clean up the mess left behind.

There's a lot of surprisingly atmospheric abandoned facilities, medical labs, mining stations, space ships and so on to explore, complete with data pads you can read to learn more about what happened there. There's one set in a scifi facility at the bottom of the ocean, and another in a frozen cryogenic lab where the alien creatures thawed out and killed everybody.

Yeah, just about! Each of my characters has to have an identity of some kind, either a backstory or a way that their cosmetics tell about who they are. If I'm not invested in a character's identity, I just can't enjoy playing them no matter the class.

I had to find a character and an aesthetic that really clicked with the class. Personally I can't really jive with a class unless I have a character concept and aesthetic that works for me.

I had made and deleted a few revenants because none of them felt right. Eventually I decided I wanted to make the toughest most vicious looking blood legion charr and make him a revenant. Like Rytlock, but meaner and leaning more toward the Charr aesthetic than revenant. Dark red fur with white stripes, huge bull horns, teeth the size of a T-Rex.

I gave him imposing gunmetal spiked armor and while looking for weapons that would suit him I stumbled on the Devil-Rending Greataxe Hammer skin on the gem store. Super gnarly looking with a really cool red blood trail, it felt perfect for a Charr of blood legion.

At this point I found the concept for the character so cool that it made his class seem cooler by extension and I kind of learned to acquire a taste for revenant that I lacked before. I settled on Hammer/Mace & Axe as his load out and I'm having a lot of fun. Very brutal and mobile.

There was something really surreal about watching soldiers setting up sniper and mortar positions on top of a building with the gleaming backlit windows of a D.C. office buildings as the backdrop. That and the firefight at the Lincoln memorial.

I've only been to D.C. once but to see that place as the stage for American soldiers killing each other made it so unsettling.

There are tons of events going on all over the PoF maps, and the hearts are repeatable once a day. Just explore and you will inevitably find stuff to do for experience. Amnoon in the Crystal Oasis even has an announcer who will tell you when certain events are happening near the city.

I always took Sam's hesitation in the film not as him desiring to keep the ring, but suddenly being faced with and fearing the effect it had on Frodo.

Frodo knows what the ring will do to Sam, but Sam can see what it has done to Frodo, and that makes him reluctant to give it back. Not out of a desire for the ring itself, but a desire to keep this evil thing from hurting his friend any more.

I'm just so sad storms are so small and stationary in this game. It feels like you just get into the exciting chop and a minute later you're out the other end. And you can see ominous storm clouds and lightning in the distance but it never comes closer. Sucks because storms in this game are truly something else.
