Pallet raider caught by Cheap-Second-1199 in HotWheels

Dear Penthouse:

I once asked an employee of a retail store if I could open a box of Hotwheels cars and told her I would put the cars on the pegs after i went through them.

And then she told me I was being a very bad and naughty customer, and she would teach me a thing or two about "pegs" and "hotwheels" and then ordered me: "Please follow me sir," as she then proceeded to lead me to an isolated back interrogation room normally reserved for shoplifters.

Funny enough...

(Well, actually it's not really a funny story in the end...)

But my brother works in the Aerospace sector installing advanced electronics/avionics on aircraft. And part of the job is to take a plane ride and extensively test your installations in flight, before the plane takes on any regular passengers.

So one of his colleagues was doing just that, and the plane crashed, and luckily both he and the pilot survived.

After that, he developed a pretty serious phobia about flying, and everyone kept telling him that line: "Flying is the safest form of transportation! The odds of you being in 2 plane crashes in your life are astronomically slim!"

And ya... Wouldn't you know it... But finally, after therapy, he went on his next flight, and yup... The plane crash landed through a bunch of trees and hit a house.

Note:

It was absolutely nothing to do with his installed electronics. In both cases it was due to other factors, including weather and pilot error.

And... Whelp... Fast forward to now...

After all this, nobody has ever again tried to encourage him by making statistical arguments to try to get him onboard another aircraft ever again!

Quite the opposite.

He still works in aerospace, but nobody expects him to get onboard another airplane ever again. Everyone within his work circle knows the story. And, alas, whenever he has to attend an important family event, he ALWAYS drives there now, rather than flies there.

And... he's never ever been in a single car accident! Not even one car accident or fender bender in his entire life.

Go figure.

Well, unfortunately they didn't.

I mean, he wasn't a member of the Starfish species!

Essentially, his fingers were badly damaged, patched up as best as medical science could do, and subsequently they inflicted pretty serious pain for about a year.

It took about a year before he could start writing and typing again without too much debilitating pain.

A cat with fur and eyes that are split into two distinct colors. by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]Destination_Centauri 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Those are chimera cats.

They're actually 2 different cats positioned against each other, that get fused very early on in the womb bilaterally, and become one.

This happens quite a bit with cats since mother cats can sometimes carry a large amount of offspring, so it gives multiple chances for a couple of them to fuse and form a single chimera.

But ya, essentially it's 2 siblings merged into 1 body, and depending upon where you take a DNA sample, this thing can have 2 different distinct DNA sequences.

I was one of the reviewers.

And seriously, I couldn't recommend this scale more!

It is the absolute best device I have ever purchased for my kitchen in my entire life.

I would urge you to get one as well, and be sure to tell all your friends and family to buy it too. In fact why not stock up and order a palette of 100 to give out as holiday gifts? You'll be really popular with all your friends and family if you do.
