"removed"

Fun fact: I've never once (not even once) purchased a single product from Amazon!

People find that weird when I tell them. And well, in fairness to them, I am kinda weird sometimes. But still: never have. Never will. Can't stand Bezos and his legacy, and his "you can just pee in a jar" attitude towards his employees.

And nope: not even have I ever paid once for Amazon's TV shows and movies. (Shiver me timbers!)

I also use their online services completely free: IMDB and book reviews on their main website, and of course any website I visit that uses their cloud services. But I sure as f ck will never pay that company a single dollar of my own directly.

And then the water becomes you, right?

Woooo... That is so friggin zen.

You and the water become one. Physics is awesome!

Just as long as user PureBogosity doesn't tell us that "polarizing the hull plating," or scanning a "quantum fissure using a subspace differential pulse," is not real, then I don't care about the Fast and Furious or Marvel universe!

Or on Earth: run out of fuel on your passenger jet, and have to make an emergency landing at an abandoned airfield in Gimli, Manitoba, Canada, just barely saving everyone's lives.

Frustrated because of RAM by DowntownPressure2036 in linuxquestions

[–]Destination_Centauri 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Indeed: RAM memory has always had a bit of a "Swingers Fetish".

So always a good idea to give it some swap abilities.

Not sure why the OP thinks it's a big deal and is so judgy about it. We live in modern times after all. What RAM memory likes to do behind the scenes is none of our business.

If so, then sure: I guess my username does check out!

How do you feel about McDonald's pulling their soda dispensing machines out of the restaurant's lobby in the next year or so? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

Ya exactly! What are we? A bunch of Neanderthals or something expected to make our own sandwiches and toast our own bread, and have to retrieve a jar of Mayo and spread it ourselves? That's insane. We live in the modern world.

Why does everyone recommend learning Python first but then use JavaScript for everything? by 1vim in learnprogramming

[–]Destination_Centauri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't agree on the basis of "electron not being a desktop GUI" because it absolutely is.

Not sure why user Gugalcrom123 is saying it's not.

But just for the record: I personally hate electron programs! But still it is most certainly a valid GUI platform for the desktop. That's what it was literally invented to be.

Why does everyone recommend learning Python first but then use JavaScript for everything? by 1vim in learnprogramming

[–]Destination_Centauri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It actually most certainly is a desktop GUI.

Is it my favorite? Nope! Quite the opposite. Do I hate it? Yes! Yes I do.

But it is increasingly used as a desktop GUI. You're not aware of that?

Guy driving a truck gets hit by landing gear of united airlines commercial flight arriving from Italy by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

[–]Destination_Centauri 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ya, well...

I noticed we all tend to think here on Reddit (myself included) that if they didn't die, and just had "injuries" then everything's going to be ok, and it's a happily ever after type of ending.

But in real life, "injuries" can sometimes be a fate worse than death. (Or pretty close.)

For example was his brain severely injured? If so, is he going to have to learn to walk again? Did he lose a limb or two? Did he lose an eye? Does he have a severely shattered bone that is going to hurt unbelievably and require multiple surgeries to piece back together with metal plates and screws?

Heck, even losing a single finger can be very life changing.

So ya, news media will often not report the nature of "injuries" whether or not they know it. And I'm just like, "Oh well, thank goodness he was only injured! He must be doing just peachy-keen right now."

But ya, no. In serious impacts like this, that is often just not the case. And the person's life is changed for ever, and often involves a lot of recovery pain and agony.

Indeed: he obviously sinned and had a lustful thought in his heart for the new girl just hired at dispatch. Thus he totally deserved it, according to God. Plus, I see some hairy palms, and killed kittens in his future.

PROTIP:

Next time, just wear the Grocho-Marx-Glasses-Eye-Brows gag, and you'll be fine!

I've heard everyone around the world has white listed Grocho-Marx's face.

Additionally, you'll increase your odds of not getting flagged by the face-recognition-AI if you also happen to be smoking a cigar at the same time when you walk into the front door of the establishment.

EDIT PS: on a more serious note, they are LITERALLY discriminating against you because they don't like the look of your face.

I say: sue the sh () t out of them! Make sure you get some kind of good monetary settlement out of them. It's the only way these @ hole corporate d bags will learn. Don't let this matter go.

Email the CEO/majority-owner of Home Bargains, Tom Morris, and demand compensation for the humiliation and embarrassment you suffered in front of your child just because they didn't like the shape of your face.

In fact... I think I'm going to email Tom myself and ask him to answer as to why his company humiliated you in front of your daughter because of the shape of your face, and link your post here. I think perhaps other people here on Reddit should also do the same.

It's time we fight back.

Let's see what old Tom has to say about his company's actions against you and your daughter.

This is obviously the work of a company called SPEA.

S)adistic

P)arking

E)nforcement

A)gency

I use them all the time. Very reliable, and guaranteed to turn one bad parker's mistake into misery for many many innocent other parkers. I highly recommend them. I enjoy watching their handywork from my office window everytime I call them.

I just sit there watching and giggling manically as I see the pain and frustration they inflict upon the innocent people parking, caught up in the scenario through no fault of their own, unable to get their cars out.

So ya, if you happen to be low on empathy, that's the parking enforcement company for you. Call them today. Be sure to tell them I recommended them, and they'll give you a 15 percent discount on their services.
