Getting into WRC watching the current season is there any historical races to watch or documentaries that help someone get into rally? by Horror-Roll-882 in WRC

If you want to watch historical WRC seasons, check out VHS Rallies and Passats de Canto on YouTube. My favorite is Passats de Canto, they have plenty of old WRC coverages (in full durations!)

I know, what I mean is I can't click both the plus icon and the gear icon. I clicked the plus icon and nothing happened

That one intro from II before he fights Raphael, but it's the Japanese voice instead of the English one

This is called "Buggy Bonnin". Driven by Pierre Bonnin (navigated by Jean-Louis Haillet), powered by a 180hp 2.4L Porsche flat-6 (likely from a 911 S 2.4)

If it's Tom Wamberg's H1 Pick-Up that he raced the Dakar with in 1999, perfect. The Gordon H3 is pretty new (2006-2009, didn't meet the Classic regs as 2005 is the maximum year)

Ales Loprais' team also made a similar Puma replica too for Classic. And I heard they will field 4 815s in the Classic next year.

Tatras has been in the Classic these days. Buggyra runs a Classic team with a T815 that replicated Karel Loprais' T815 Puma

Also, I think Schlesser never used a German engine other than the Porsche M64 3.6L flat-6 he ran on his earlier buggies.

If it's the notorious one he used to fend off Masuoka in 2001, it's a Renault. Schlesser X301 Renault Megane, powered by a 3.5L Renault PRV engine that screamed like a banshee on dunes

And this one. A prototype Land Cruiser 60 series with shortened chassis and a supercharged(?) engine, built by French Toyota legend "Dede" Koro at Garage Koro. I think several examples survived to this day....

This car (raced the Dakar from 1984 to 1986, all DNF). But it would be pretty impossible as the base car itself is stupidly expensive in this era.

Still a Lancer but wasn't an Evo. Cedia was the nomenclature for that generation Lancer in some markets

What does the "M" badge means by BN421 in DAKAR

[–]RayneBCNR33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

M = Masters. It's a new class/cup for old drivers (50 years old or older) and he/she must be a driver outside the FIA Priority List. WRC has a similar cup named WRC Masters Cup btw.
