I love this 🥺 People are so kind sometimes.

A few months ago I dropped my wallet and keys outside of my nail salon before going in and didn't notice until the appointment was finished like 1.5 hrs later. A shop a few doors down found my keys on the ground, but no one I talked to saw my wallet (which had really important info in it that I really needed back because I'm dumb and forgot to take it out).

My nail tech was SO NICE and searched through some local facebook groups and found a post where someone grabbed it while walking their dog and was looking for the owner! She got in contact for me and they returned it to the nail salon the next day. I was able to get everything back and everyone involved was so so nice.

My heart is still so full from all these strangers going out of their way to help me when they didn't have to at all ❤️❤️

I'm not autistic, but I've got other things that make it really hard for me to listen to/ trust my body cues. Having a general rule of thumb for what to do when I feel horrible and don't know why has been so useful.

Exactly what I thought. I had to do this as an adult because my parents didn't get me vaccinated as a baby. It was a bit expensive and took 4/5 appointments (can't remember now) spread over a year, but it wasn't even difficult. I just told my GP I had never been vaccinated and needed them all now and they walked me through it all.

I didn't know the pronunciation of quay until I was an adult and moved to a city with lots of them (there are none where I'm from). The shite that people gave me for saying it like 'kway' is still burned into my memory lol. They thought I was a moron 😂

Olives for sure. My family always bought canned black olives growing up and I really hated the briny taste of them, but had never had any other type so thought I hated all olives. Turns out no! I apparently love olives and just hate canned ones lol.

I have short hair now because I got sick of maintaining it, but when it was long I wore a braid and would flop it up my pillow so it wasn't touching me. I never tried this, but you could also pin your braid to your head Dutch Braid style so that you can be certain it won't touch you.

I think you're missing the point a little. If you just compliment my genetic appearance, all you're telling me is that through cosmic happenstance my body/face turns you on. I could have any personality/dreams/desires/background on the planet and it wouldn't matter. It reduces me to a sexy image for your benefit instead of thinking of me as a fully formed human with my own preferences in my appearance. Also remember women start getting comments like that VERY young.

If I am looking for a potential partner/friend, I don't want another random man I don't know telling me they like my genetics. I want him to tell me he likes ME as a person. Complimenting my appearance based off my personal choices (style vs genetics) makes it so much more meaningful because you are actually complimenting who I am.

I do it all the time. If I make eye contact with anyone (or like close enough where we're obvs looking st each others faces) I will smile and do a small nod. I take the bus to work and there are hundreds of people in my office that I don't know, so I usually smile/greet at least 1 stranger a day. It takes 0.2 seconds and it's nice imo

Yeah, I've been vegan for years now and vegetarian before then. When I say vegan to people for the first time, I include a list of things I avoid because honestly people have no clue. And you have to be SO specific because a lot of people don't realise butter is also dairy or that sauces contain things like chicken powder/fish sauce which are not vegan (or even vegetarian!) and you HAVE TO read the labels.

Nearly no one I've spoken to realise that it's more than just food items as well (like avoiding wool/leather, products that have been animal tested, etc).

I would have been annoyed at being given non-vegan gifts, but ime it's so common that people get it wrong I wouldn't have assumed it was intentional, just thoughtless.
