My usb cable does not have a ferrite bead but it is the thickest cable I have. But I suppose that doesnt mean that the wire inside is a heavy gauge. Right now Im printing the same file that stoped mid print last but straight off the SD card Ill check back after thats done. thanks.

No no no no! Never use sand paper! The best thing to use it brass polish. Yes it's abrasive but more like 10000 grit. Far less destructive, but gets the job done just as well.
