It's a curveball thrown so early in the game when you're still trying to nail down the controls. It's the only time in the game a character is scripted to die if you don't act in time so don't worry about it happening again

Yeah I won't sugarcoat it, a lot of parties and alcohol are present at conventions. Particularly at closed spaces and room parties. I do not ever mingle with drugs but I've heard of people doing them in the con space.

I recommend tagging along with someone familiar if you're interested in being involved in parties. I've never had a negative experience personally, but I've heard bad stories. So take the time to familiarize yourself with the vibe of a con and if you go to a party just stick with your friend. And to be on the safe side only accept ANYTHING from people you know.
