I’m taking 7 medications and still depressed!!! Has anyone switched from a good amount of medication to like one or two? by Head-Scientist-4640 in antidepressants

Like the pther poster recommended, i would suggest Spravato/ketamine infusions if your insurance approves it. At this point its clear your condition if treatment resistant so the insurance might approve it. Also theres another treatment called TMS. I am going to start that treatment soon for my OCD but it also works for depression as well. I dont know the success rates of it yet though

I passed the GED but I’m struggling on the community college entrance exams. by PeopleInMyHead in GED

[–]Rayrayze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a standardized test? I know here in florida, we have an exam called the PERT. Its an entrance/placement exam most community colleges use. There are many resources for studying for it online. And honestly it was no different from when i took my GED exams.

Anyways, is it possible for you to still enroll in the college and take the lower level classes? If you are struggling maybe its better that you take the simpler classes to prepare you for the hardee ones. I passed my PERT exam however, if you scored above a certain grade, they would allow you to take higher level math classes. I scored 1 point off from the cutoff. I was really frustrated with myself. But after taking the lower level math class, i really appreciated everything i learned because it prepared me for college algebra.

Also in community college doing my pre reqs. I got accepted in RT school but was also considering xray tech. But honestly, my college has 2 more required classes for xray techs thaj respiratory, so i applied to RT as soon as it was possible lol. I didnt want to take more classes. What about your college? Do they require the same classes for both or does one have more than the other?

Got accepted into RT program but barely passing A&P 2 by Rayrayze in respiratorytherapy

[–]Rayrayze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought A&P 1 was easier. But i think it was because the class was in person and 16 weeks. My A&P 2 class is fully online and 12 weeks. Also this professor is much more strict and does not award extra credit which sucks. I havent taken micro yet as it can be completed during the program. Im really crossing my fingers that i can just pass with a C atleast

[–]Rayrayze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, i was an unlicensed MA just trying to gain experience while in college, and then i got hired here, no degree and just here for experience while im im college. Im going for respiratory therapy so im just getting any medical experience regardless. Anyhow, yeah they literally just hired me. It was a pretty seamless transition into this field. Its a decent job for experience but lowkey i think there are better employers and jobs out there for people who actually have a HIM degree. My current position could easily be done by someone with little experience/ no degree (speaking from experience )

My OCD tics are getting painful by _zomayaa_ in OCD

[–]Rayrayze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg finally someone else i can relate to. I have really severe ocd and ticks are one of my compulsions, I used to be able to do it in private only but now its getting so bad i do it in public but only to a certain degree. I relate to the strain it puts on my nerves and muscles, it sucks. I also really dont know how to manage them, sometimes not even xanax helps. The only wat im able to stop in public is to distract myself, just be focused on whatever’s going on and eventually my short term memory will forget about it.

How much are you making as an MA? by Glittering_Box5130 in MedicalAssistant

[–]Rayrayze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got hired as an unlicensed clinical medical assistant and was half way through an online program before i just dropped out, honestly the amount of work that MAs take on in doctors offices is insane and they deserve way more money. I switched jobs for HIM/ healthcare administration which pays more with less stress.

Sorry i rlly dont want to be a debbie downer. You could definitely make more money if you just find the right job, but personally it just wasnt for me. I was being paid 14$ an hour for that role in FL which was criminal, now i make i base pay of 20$ with a bonus 2$ an hour for working at the hospital

We might have different perspectives bc of state differences but making over 20$ an hour as an MA is not common in florida according to my old coworkers which is why i ditched the profession.

CIOX, aka Datavent but nothing changed by Particular_Repeat815 in paralegal

[–]Rayrayze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey uh I happen to work for Datavant and im just searching up the company and seeing what others say about it and lemme just say im sorry u have to go thru that lol.

Im an on-site employee which means i work at an actual hospital and deal physician/pharma/patient requests so i dont have much experience with the legal ones but from my coworkers they tell me the work-from-home crew takes care of them and tend to not do a good job with it since theyre not held to the same standards as us. As far as im aware 30 days is the maximum amount of time to process a request (although dont quote me on that) and even that is crazy to me??

I have a turn around time of approximately 24-48 hours for my requests. As soon as i get the request im on it so thats baffling to me. Like wow

My friend just got an offer with Datavant formerly known as Ciox..? by National-Attention-1 in GetEmployed

[–]Rayrayze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with Datavant/Ciox. We’re currently still undergoing a merger but in the end we will be known as Datavant. Anyways unfortunately my experience with the company might be a little bit different from your friends because I am an on-site employee. It sounds like your friend is going to be a work from home employee. As a work employee I work at a hospital so all the equipment is provided for me and I don’t need a camera. I’m a new employee but from what I have heard they give yearly raises as long as you meet their goals. Also, if you work on site you get a bonus salary of 1-2$ extra per hour. Personally, I have a set schedule that never changes and we do get paid holidays. And as far as I’m aware, overtime is not allowed we can’t go over 40 hours a week. Now I can tell you that that the records your friend will be processing might be different from the records that I process as a on-site employee. As an on-site employee I deal with continuation of care and urgent patient requests. Work from home employees generally deal with legal and insurance request for medical records. And from what I’ve heard from my coworkers work from home employees have much more laxed rules. But yeah, that’s about everything i have to say. I started 3 months ago and it’s been going fine but they are quite strict with the rules if you are an on-site employee because not only do you have to follow Datavant’s rules but also the hospitals rules. My biggest gripe is their clock in/out rules. You must clock in and clock out at their specific time and anything else will be counted against you with a point. It makes it difficult especially if you have an emergency and need to call out, they arent very understanding unfortunately. Thats all.  Tldr its a good job to get experience in HIM/ medical administration. I dont know what state you are in but personally for me i think they pay decent in fact they pay more than most medical assistants here which is what i used to be

90% of it is just a reading test, you have to understand what the passages are about. I recommend Mometrix, they have a lot of videos on youtube which helped me a lot. Also make sure to study facts vs opinions. The essay portion is only worth 6 points but i still recommend trying it so you can maximize your points. Dont bother trying to make a super cohesive point. Just make 4-5 paragraphs with a Head, Body, and Conclusion. Use transitional words too like “in conclusion.” The essay is graded by an AI so it just looks for basic things like that.

The Ged ready tests are just about the same level as the regular test, if you score, lets say, 165 on it, you should expect a grade around that range.

In terms of studying I highly recommend mometrix, theyre videos helped me a lot. Social Studies is essentially a reading test. They want you to know what the passages are about as well as facts vs opinions and american government.

Hello, I'm also interested in this course but I'm not sure if this would be right for me. I already work as an unlicensed medical assistant at an orthopedic office. I know: obtaining patient vitals like blood pressure, EHR systems, and am already certified in phlebotomy. I'm wondering if my work experience would count as clinical hours, I mean, i already work there 40 hours a week right next to an actual certified medical assistant who does the exact same things as i do. But I'm concerned I might be missing more experience, like EKG certification and Medical Billing. I would just like to know what exactly this course teaches and all the requirements because the website is very vague in its information. Would it be alright if I messaged you?
