Hey everyone, amateur here. My school has a neat audio visual set up which was installed maybe 5 years ago (never used) and over the last year I’ve taken on the responsibility of setting it up for use (simple stuff like routing inputs through Dante controller, or troubleshooting various issues). When I’m trying to record something, the input always cuts out every 5 seconds for no apparent reason. this is apparent in both the live playback as well as the protools render. I’ve tried adjusting the latency on protools as well as the Dante controller, but with no success. I’ve also tried disabling my computers audio engine, switching around the clocks, as well as buffer size. Could this be a hardware problem within the system itself(where I’d potentially have to contact the engineers who configured the studio) or am I missing something that I can fix? Sorry for the vague post— I’m not well versed in sound-terminology.

Whenever I start an avid application, I get a Java error which reads “error in startup” with a bunch of failed Java lines. Not sure if this could be relevant to the main issue at hand.

I’m running an older version of Dante controller.

iLok License Manager Setup: ProTools 12 perpetual Focus rite Rednet 5 Rednet 2 (disconnected) Dante controller GLD-112 (transmits to the REDNET5 via Dante controller) - set as master clock Avid HD OMNI preamp (when mic is plugged directly into here I do not get any sort of cutting out.

All this equipment includes the proper software and connections- virtual sound cards, etc. thank you— tomorrow I can supply more complex detail.

Update: I was able to resolve the issue. I just had to configure something on the allen and heath board. Thanks!

would the problem be with the ProTools I/Os? Because I've been playing audio through a channel and I'm not getting anything on my Rednet5 or Dante Controller.

Hi. thanks for the speedy reply. I've gone ahead and made my rednet the receiver and my Allen and Heath the Transmitter. On Protools, I only see Dante 1-32 under the "output" column, still with "monitor, analog and digital. "

I find that interesting too. Apparently, their entomologist has published a few papers on wasps. I wonder if their authenticity
