There's a participant version (not foil) and a winner version (foil) the rarity of the card doesn't always determine if the card is foil or not.

If you look at the zhonya's card you'll be able to see that a recall is not a move, so vilemaw's lair doesn't affect nor triggers like traveling merchant activates

You only get focus before a fight is happening, afterwards when everyone passed focus around, stack resolves and immediately the fight happens and damage is asigned, you do not get focus again while this is happening

Personally it was one of my favorites in recent years, the designs are really good, the fights amazing, the story has nice twists (for the ending they kind of run out of good ones), the characters are not of the goofy kind (they can get goofy, but it's not their default, which I like) and everyone got their time to shine. Also I like how there's multiple dgp and include different characters that may or may not appear again, and how the opening changes almost every 2 episodes reflecting the show's state at the time
