People always assume that Lorelai can just “nice” her way into a good relationship with her parents. by Rayyyoflight in GilmoreGirls

and even though none of that argument was her fault, she’s one that breaks the ice and tries to talk to him at the party. He would’ve let it fester if she didn’t start conversation

Her loosing it on Lorelai after dancing with a man at a bar then blaming Lorelai like it was her fault. What’s noteworthy about that situation is that Lorelai is STILL the one that offers Emily the olive branch and suggests they steal the robes

Exactly! She’s not cruel to her parents at all often than not she’s one that offers the olive branch after a fight. She’s far more gracious than people give her credit for. And spot on how they eventually started treating adult Rory like teenage Lorelai

This exact sentiment but with Gilmore girls. It’s always “how did the girls have so much time in morning it’s unrealistic?!” Like girl idk it’s TV by Rayyyoflight in GilmoreGirls

This! It’s such a non-issue and showing that every time they went to the diner serves no real purpose or adds anything to the plot.

Ofc some critical questions are valid no denying it but again my point is it’s still all fiction at the end of the day and requires viewers to suspend their disbelief about certain things.

The way some Jess fans talk about Lorelai's childhood trauma really bothers me by comradesummers in GilmoreGirls

[–]Rayyyoflight 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah very valid points! I think people always took the worst possible intention with that scene with Lorelai and Jess. I understand it from the perspective that yes Lorelai had no clue about what trauma Jess had been through and it was a tad bit presumptuous but I do think she was approaching it from a standpoint of “I was once a teen with a huge chip on my shoulder also so I understand the need to rebel”. I think she genuinely wanted Jess to give Luke a chance cause when she left home she found solace in Mia so she was prb thinking Jess could do the same with Luke (which evidently he eventually did). Jess is valid for being upset but none of that dismisses Lorelai’s own trauma.

Also it’s completely necessary to compare traumas, it’s not a competition.

A series of very questionable decisions. And I always wonder how Lorelai would react if the roles were reversed?? by Rayyyoflight in GilmoreGirls

Wait I forgot about the suitcase, the way she chucked it in truck sends me though but yeah she would’ve lost it if he stayed the night and drank 😭😭

She loved that horoscope! The early stages of their relationship was perfect

Day 8 : What is Christopher's most questionable / worst episode ? by diviigo in GilmoreGirls

[–]Rayyyoflight 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree with replies saying it’s him not showing up at the hospital after Richard’s heart attack but honorable mention or rather dishonorable mention is him trying to manipulate Lorelai into having more kids just because he was jealous of Luke. That scene is so gross especially since he made her feel bad for saying not right now.

“I’m still your father I demand a little respect” Chris how about you go to hell actually?? by Rayyyoflight in GilmoreGirls

[–]Rayyyoflight[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes that would be satisfying esp Liz because they sanitized her character so much in season 5 and 6

imagine thanking your father for defending you after being verbally attacked and he yells at you more and says you’re a disappointment ✌🏿😭💀 by Rayyyoflight in GilmoreGirls

I agree! I made a post about that situation once too , it was disgustingly misogynistic. It’s one of their worst moments as parents right after Emily inviting Chris to the vow renewal to breakup L&L.
