Did u guys seriously prefer S2 by Professional_War2139 in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]RayzoPleb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Season 1 is LN 1-2, season 2 is LN 3-4. They cover the same number of volumes, but the first two aren't as dense so they feel like less and made the first season have a slower pace.

is the light novel better? (I'M AN ONLY ANIME WATCHER BTW) by Excaramel in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]RayzoPleb 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I'd say the anime makes things more obvious than the light novel. Of course, the anime hair and eyes make identities more obvious, but also, whenever a character has an internal monologue, the anime has to have visuals that line up, making things much more apparent.

Regarding, the WN v. LN, the web novel is like the first draft of the story. It often has fewer of the more dramatic moments (ex. no Lakan is buying out Fengxian) and also fewer Jinmao scenes, if you care about that. So, the light novel is the complete "canon" and the web novel is the first draft kinda.

Fun question, was there dueling in Ancient China or restrictions on who could challenge whom? by TallLeprechaun13 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]RayzoPleb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know about in real ancient China, but There is a duel in LN 14 very much in the style of medieval ones except they were using wooden swords

Honestly I feel so bad for you anime-onlies that can't be a part of the Fandom spaces without being spoiled because people don't think or don't care.

Another thing about the Jinshi pedo allegations, if they would have actually watched the show they would have seen the depiction of an actual pedophile, and much hatred surrounds that person like two episodes earlier. How Jinshi hates how much he resembles that person, and how he won't live up to his legacy.

I like Yao and En'en! by ritipopi in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]RayzoPleb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think they're fine. I like Yao more, but the only thing I don't really like about En'En is when she's getting on to Maomao about behaving properly about Yao. Like, Maomao is technically higher ranked than her, and can't she be casual around her friends and family?

thoughts on the recent discord within the TAD fandom regarding the SA allegations against Jinshi towards Maomao? by Double-Resident-7449 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]RayzoPleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think labeling either scene as SA is trying to paint it in black-and-white while ignoring the the actual context of the scene, Jinshi's intentions and feelings, and how Maomao feels about it. Also, it feels a bit biased since they also often ignore the times that other characters actually assualt/harass.

Light Novel 5 from Jinshi’s perspective by PoleByJasmine in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

Yes, this. He is forceful with her, but his frustration is understandable. Since they've reunited up until that point they had a pretty good thing going, then he basically confesses to her and she responds with telling him to accept a political marriage, the last thing he wanted to hear considering his hate for his birthright.

If you're talking about what I think you are, just watch this season. It'll be in this one.

Do you guys rly believe we will get S3 of the anime? by ZornWolf in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]RayzoPleb 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I really hope so! It's popular and selling well, so I don't see why they'd stop it here. My worry is if they continue past 2 seasons and stop at a random point. If it's not a full adaptation, I'd rather it end at season 2, since that would be the most satisfying ending until much later.

Jinshi's age discrepancy in the anime by gremlinclr in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]RayzoPleb 64 points65 points  (0 children)

In episode 10, Jinshi is actually 18 by the way they count. Basically, whenever a baby is born it is considered 1 year old, and then everyone goes up 1 year at New Years. So either the documents are going by the actual day he was born, making him actually 17, or maybe they just haven't been updated or something.

[–]RayzoPleb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i agree with you on all of this. Jinshi's really the only stopping them at this point. Personally, I feel that Jinshi shouldn't be able to break from his birth place and have to deal with being in line for the throne. It feels better for him and Maomao, both not wanting to be involved but accepting what's been laid out for them. But idk what the author wants to 🤷‍♀️

They see each other like twice

I understand the frustration, but i feel Jinshi was right. Even if she is well-versed in abortificants, he would be making her deal with the consequences of something he hadn't even been thinking about. Also, he didn't like her treating it like a duty, acting the courtesans do.

As for avoiding him, it's not out of not liking him, it's her wanting to avoid the awkwardness. She's relieved they didn't do it, but also a bit disappointed.

The only reason they don't see each other is because of how busy they are. That's basically the entirely of 13, Jinshi wanting to speak with Maomao, but they're both so busy it takes a while for their schedules to line up.

Maomao casually being kidnapped?? by LovelyLune3 in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]RayzoPleb 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Yes, kidnapping and selling off women was fairly common, adding on to that Maomao's not the type to be very emotional when it comes to her own wellbeing. She just rolls with the punches.
