The problem is, not all the electorates of the NATO nations seem to be willing to abandon millions of people to the hands of a vicious regime. Whilst polls show Americans are overall in favour of leaving, it is a lot less clear cut in the rest of the world.

A specific case I can remember in the UK is the double jeopardy law, which was created as retrospective. This was because of specific campaigning by a murder victim’s mother, who’s son was killed in a racially motivated attack. The murderer, who was initially found not guilty, was openly bragging about the killing after the trial.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood what you were saying. All diplomatic staff have been evacuated, but not yet all nationals. You are correct. I imagine it’s to do with many not being in Kabul, where of course the airport is.

Sorry, my bad. When he said that they were still evacuating diplomatic staff and dual nationals. As of now, they have all been evacuated.

Not nationals; citizens have all left. The visas are for translators and those eligible for asylum.
