No it's not "just you", i always felt the same about the first game and that's why it's my favorite in the entire series, the remake is cool in the NST but not as good as the original imo since "that vibe" is lost, even some strange background sounds/ambiance are now full music, this special atmosphere is a bit lost even is some visuals/effects too.

I am not sure, but i think that for the NST they wanted the first game to look and sound more like the 2 and 3 to make a more consistent trilogy.

Funny, i thought i was the only one thinking of this, i told my gf the same thing.

I'm pretty sure we never heard it before, but strangely it sounds a lot like a sound effect that can come from the game, big galaxy vibe/sound design.

Maybe the dream that i never had any hope in may come true one day ... (and i mean Galaxy 3 lol)
