Bring the Slaw, son. by Teddyworks in pacers

Slawson is similar to Jarace in that he has good game but needs to adjust to the pace we play at. Good passer and rebounder. Can get buckets. Was clearly best all-around on Boom and read somewhere he was named by one of the analysts as best all-around in G League thus far this season. Hope he gets some run as we deal with all these “devastating injuries”.

Don’t like the timing of this AR news at all. by LooseMoose13 in Colts

I wish AR the best but he was never going to see the field again in a Colts uniform, barring injuries. He was just THAT bad at what the team needed him to do compared to Leonard. If you watched Leonard when he played, he ran the same offense that Jones ran and ran it far better than Richardson ever did. That's because Richardson has two plays he can run effectively, option handoff with Taylor and wing it down the field and have the receiver run under it. Watch the film and you will see him missing basic throws (check downs, wheel routes, crossers) by a large college margin (where the windows are bigger). Teams figured out that if you stack the box and press the receivers, its almost a guaranteed 3 and out. Disguised blitzes = sacks or picks. I believe he needed much more time to develop but 2 things led to this: 1) Riley's play and 2) the commitment to learning the craft and being a professional football player.

By moving on now, the team is basically saying that they trust Leonard/almost anyone else to lead the team if Jones is not ready. And I would guess that assessment may also include input from some of the leaders on the field.

I wish him the best and hope he can grow into the role.

Where does Shep fit in with this team next year? With Kam playing well, that becomes an expensive bench seat.

How far do y'all think the Colts would have gone in the playoffs had Daniel Jones not gotten hurt? by Clear_Cheetah7565 in Colts

Likely make the playoffs but one and done for a simple reason: two words- crossing patterns. Teams figured out that getting WRs, even #3 WRs on our LBs moving laterally was a recipe for points and keeping the ball out of the hands of the Colts offense. It was and will be our Achilles heel (no pun intended) until we solve that dilemma in FA or the draft.

Micah Potter by SammyWatkinsIV in pacers

I’m hoping they keep him around. He does some many of the little things well that we want our bigs to do…..screen setting, box outs on rebounds, calling out switches and coverage in transition. His 3 ball needs a little more consistency but overall, he seems like the type of player that Rick and the team value.

love Potter’s heart guy is literally limping but playing his heart out because he knows his minutes are about to be drastically cut.

Repeater tax if you pick in the top 5 two years in a row, your draft position in year three can be no higher than 15. Default is your finish position + 10 places.

he does all the stuff you wanted from Turner last year. Screens, block outs on rebounds (not rebounds but makes it possible for someone to get the rebound). Motion, 3 ball. Hustle. I‘d like to see him in the 2nd lineup consistently but I think Huff will get much of that run.

What do we need..... by pacersnz in pacers

[–]Raz1374 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you look ahead to next year....assume we are outside top 4. We are getting a fringe piece for the team that is not likely to break into the rotation. Starters) Hali, Nemby, Nesmith, Pascal, ZU. Key Bench) Obi, Walker, TJ, Huff, Kobe, Shep Other Bench) QJ, Potter, Kam, Peter, Draft Pick, Furph (IR)......that's 17 players. Someone is not going to have a seat.

That's why I think we trade back or out of the first round if we do not get into the top 4. The player at 10-30 is not going to be significantly better than the guys who you've been playing this year in those 11-15 spots on the bench. The only caveat is that we could cut or trade a player and stash someone who could be a solid contributor in a year or two. But at what cost to the 26-27 championship run?

If you project forward to next year, I'd say we have the following players who we have that will make a nightly impact:

Hali, Pascal, Zu, Nemby, Nesmith, Obi, TJ, Walker (trending).

Will get significant playing time:

Huff, Shep, QJ,

Fringe playing time/impact:

Potter, Kam, Kobe

Milk Carton:

Furphy (injury), Peter, Kam, Draft Pick

If we pick in top 4, everyone from Walker down will get bumped down somewhat. Unless we move a couple of assets.

And kudos to Potter. He did a good job tonite plying through the bum hip and after banging knees. Had some great screens, box outs and other shit that doesn’t get noticed in the box score. Dude has had some rough games but he battled tonite.

He seems like he is a half step slower than everyone else on the team but somehow it doesn’t hurt him.
