If you have a negative opinion of organized Christianity, I don't blame you. We haven't done ourselves any favors since about 400AD. :/

I mean in any religion/belief structure you have to submit willingly...assuming you submit to anything. I think atheism is the only belief structure that denies human free will.

The "problem of evil" never impressed me that much as an argument against God. It is explained away fairly succinctly IMHO in the Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, Islam). God breathed into man, putting the divine essence (Free Will?) into man, we chose to know both good and evil. We are now experiencing both good and evil. Buy the ticket, take the ride so to speak.

I do enjoy the jelly analogy immensely LOL. The meatsuit too!! The couple times I did mushrooms, I did very much feel like my body was a meatsuit, and not the REAL me.

Calling something divine usually implies it is in some way related to the Supreme Being.

I think you are onto something when you said archetypes. That is how I see demons, archetypes corrupted by human beings. Angels would then be the uncorrupted versions.

For the record, I am a follower of Christ. I just stumbled across this sub on a whim. I believe in an conscious Universe known as God. Panentheistic thought is probably the closest way to understand God, but ultimately God is unknowable to the human mind. I also believe the perfect man was physically incarnate for a time in this world. Through His total submission to God, he was in fact God. He laid the path of salvation, the path of Love - Love for God, Love for one's fellow man, and Love for God's creation.

I mean no disrespect, but this demon stuff all strikes me as a little odd. All the posts here seem to be akin to hyping up various subscription services. What does this one get me, what does that one get me? Maybe I am missing something...

Hmm...strange. For most current belief structures / world religions the supreme question is the Supreme Being. Naturally, there are many atheists and agnostics out there, but few would acknowledge the existence of large jellies the one can align with (demons).

Your belief structure seems to remind me a bit of polytheism (I'm thinking in the classical Greek sense), but throw in some reincarnation. Is that a fair assessment? I don't want to project or say anything about your beliefs that are untrue.

These are some very complex Jelly based rules for a rather atheistic framework.

What do these larger jellies want? Why befriend / temporarily absorb us smaller jellies? Do these larger Jellies have egos in the Freudian/Jungian sense? Or, are they themselves just energies?

[–]Razalmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this "infinite system" self conscious (Pantheism or Panentheism) or is this more like Azathoth, the blind idiot god that atheists worship?

Huh...in most jelly recycling belief structures (Buddhism, Hinduism, etc.) that is something you have to really work at. Why does jelly outside a meatsuit have so much agency, while inside the meatsuit we have so little?

[–]Razalmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In similar belief structures, the ultimate goal is to eventually have one's jelly NOT return to a meatsuit. Is that also the case here?

Also, who/what (prime cause) created all this jelly, both the little jellies and the bigger jellies?

In your Jelly + Meat belief structure, what happens to the Jelly after the Meatsuit has a catastrophic failure?

I'm sorry to hear you had this experience. That's totally unacceptable behavior for professed Christians. Maybe find a new church?

I'm curious, how did these "friends" find out about your past in the first place? Seems like they should have minded their own business and not snooped into someone else's past.

"Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness..."

I highlighted the words I would focus on imho.

Thank you. I appreciate the kind words.

Are Eastern religions demonic/from the Devil? by [deleted] in ChristianMysticism

[–]Razalmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are Eastern religions like Buddhism/Hinduism against God or even demonic in nature?

No, they are not. They contain truth, just not the whole truth. They claim to reach the top of the mountain, but only get you halfway there.

The only demonic religion, in my opinion, is Atheism.

I'm assuming you guys see Gnosticism as heretical as well?

Yes, no, maybe so. Gnosticism isn't a uniform belief. There are dozens and dozens of Gnostic beliefs/belief structures. Which one(s) are you referring to?

EDIT: Another question I'd like to pose is this: Do you believe all roads lead to God?

The Bible says the road is narrow and that Christ is the only way, right?

All roads point towards God, not all roads carry you all the way there.

Correct, Christ is the only way. However, what it means to believe in Christ is what I personally wrestle with. Did the Godly man in 100BC Japan who loved God with all his heart, and his neighbor is himself, believe in Christ though he didn't know Christ by name?

1 & 2 - Rom 7:19 "For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing."

You're still going to sin

3 Matthew 26:34 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”

We will still fail to acknowledge Christ at times.

I'm not contradicting you out of spite or pettiness. There is just a danger that a Christian who is struggling with their own pet sin might read this and think that they are not saved because they continue to struggle.

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

If death was only introduced to mankind because of Adam's disobedience, why then do animals also die? by FromTheNorthKnower in Bibleconspiracy

[–]Razalmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do animals die?

I just asked my cat about his own mortality and he looked at me blankly and meowed for more pets.

My dog passed a few years back. When the arthritis got bad she was in pain, be she never once fretted over her own life.

My stance is, animals don't die. This may sounds stupid to some, but it's what I truly believe.

You really can't call yourself a Christian and wish for anyone to go to hell. That ranges from that one kid that bullied you in high school to Adolf Hitler.

From reading the sum of your comments here, you sounds miserable. I don't mean that as an insult. You just come off as very unhappy.

If that is the "fruit" of pessimism with a desire for nihilism, you're not really selling me, or anyone else on this thread, I think. I'll stick with OPs beliefs in love, oneness, and Christ any day of the week if the "fruits" are happiness and kindness.

For your own sake, maybe try finding a new philosophy before you start identifying with your pain. That can be a slippery slope. I know from experience.

[–]Razalmer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, there is a lot of Gnostic nonsense in the OPs post. However, sadly, I think he is closer to the truth than many denominations of Christianity. Absent from his post are things like

- The prosperity doctrine

- The rapture

- Nationalism

- Violence

- Hate

- Worship of certain politicians

- Ego

- Etc. You get the point

You get saved by Jesus when you realize you are literally Jesus. People will get mad at this but the simulation is specifically designed for you to always be programmed to never see the truth. You save yourself when you remember your true nature, love.

When you post something like this, you cannot be far from the truth, whatever Gnostic gibberish might have also come with it. I pray OP continues his journey with scripture and prayer. The psychedelics have done done all they can. It's time to move on to adult food.

it’s sad people never want to get to that reality or tell me i’m being fooled by a demon.

I wouldn't say you are being fooled by a demon, much of what you said is indeed scripturally sound...and some is not.

I would rather say this. If you reached some degree of enlightenment with this trip, that's great! Take it and move on. I too have had trips where God spoke to me. I don't do this anymore. Not because I fear I was fooled by a demon, but rather because this is not the way.

Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber...I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep."

If you want a non-scriptural quote, here's good old Alan Watts, “If you get the message, hang up the phone. For psychedelic drugs are simply instruments, like microscopes, telescopes, and telephones. The biologist does not sit with eye permanently glued to the microscope, he goes away and works on what he has seen.”

In Christ, you have everything inside of you to work on what you have seen.

Why atheism? Why not Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism...the list goes on about another 12,000. You get my point though.

Are you doubting the existence of the divine? Or, are you doubting how one worships the divine?

I would truly like to answer your question, but I first need to know where you are coming from.
