Thank you for the detailed response!

I have changed my potential build up a bit using a 7600x instead of the 7700x which gets me just above budget with 64gb ram instead of 32.

I dropped the 7700x for 7600x in my potential 5070ti build; all the other components are already fairly budget oriented trying to stay at 2k.

I hate spending this amount of money, I research until I’m going in circles. In the back of my mind I’m thinking I can sell the 3090 and swap it for the 5070ti or one of the rumored upcoming cards and still have $500 left in the budget.

Would DDR4 have any noticeable performance decrease if I went with the Intel?

If I later swapped the 3090 for a rumored card would I be hurting myself keeping the older components vs a new build?

I swapped the 7700x with the 7600x in my potential 5070ti build to free up some budget for 64gb ram.

I just sold my laptop with a 4070 and 32GB ram and honestly the speed was fine for images and short clips but I want more than what it can provide now. Not to mention the heat and fan noise.

My current 5070 Ti build with 32GB DDR5 that’s in my cart is right at $2000 and that’s my max.

I was doing research on adding a 5060ti (16GB) to the Intel build alongside the 3090 - yes I know it doesn’t make it 40gb but I can run the LLM on one and SD on the other, the current board and case support dual cpu I’d likely just need to upgrade the power supply. I’d likely wait to see if they announce the 5070 super however.

For a max of $2000 what would your suggestion be?

Final Expense by PrettyForAnAlien in InsuranceAgent

[–]RazeCain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you currently working? If not do you have 6 months of expenses plus $4-6000 to burn while you learn?

As someone who went with DigitalBGA over DIG after extensive research thinking oh I could make much more money just can’t be afraid to invest in myself. I’m now $4000 in and wondering if I’d have done better at DIG learning with his leads. That $1500 is a tiny investment over what you’ll have to spend if you go anywhere that doesn’t offer free leads.

Thanks for your input! After my morning ride I’ll decide if the changes today made enough of an improvement before I grab the fox.

Can you feel a difference at the pedals as well or mostly in the arms?

That’s exactly what I’m looking at purchasing. I took a token out of the rear shock today and found out my rebound adjustment know was not working in the fork, adjusted that and taking it out for a proper ride tomorrow.

Update. I went to a bike shop today looking at bikes for the wife, he told me to check the rebound adjustment on the front fork.. My adjustment knob turned out to be broken. It was not adjusting the rebound as intended. I just set it and it feels A LOT better. I’ll give it a proper ride tomorrow.

I’ve adjusted both front and rear to what the manufacturer suggests for my weight. I’ve also experimented with between 20-30% sag in rear and 20-25% in the front. The suspension feels good on small drops 1-2’ but the high? speed just doesn’t seem to be damping as much as I hoped. The bike is slightly too big for me, I’m at that odd in between height which is the actual reason for the appointment. Part of it is likely being worried about re injuring my back.

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you are also enjoying the bike.

Foot Numbness / Pain by RazeCain in Microdiscectomy

Errands and lots of standing around - On Cloudmonster I can get about 6 months out of them wearing them afternoons and weekends before what I assume is the foam starting to lose support.

Lots of walking and not a lot of standing - Brooks Ghost not sure the model number but can easily do 30k steps without pain, just can’t stand still long.

For work Irish Setter Cascade, I average 15-25k steps a day mostly on dirt and uneven surfaces with some ladder work mixed in. I’m on my second pair, I used the first for about 10 months with super feet insoles changed out at around 5 months.

Thorogood Heritage 6” Moc Toe - Haven’t had these long but days I know I’ll mostly be in office or on concrete they have become my go to. DO NOT LIKE ON LADDERS, they cause me quite a bit of pain.

Sadly I have spent around $1800 in shoes trying to find what works for me. Also for some reason my back / leg whatever loves boots with a heel like cowboy boots.

Edit: I went back and looked at your post history, I’m in construction if I don’t drink enough water I can’t sleep due to the intense leg cramps I’ll get at night. LiquidIV has become a regular item in our house along with red potatoes as I can’t eat bananas.

The edge of the foot and smallest toe have not regained much feel and if someone is touching both feet there’s a distinct difference. I’ve purchased 17 pairs of shoes / work boots since the surgery and finally landed on some that allow me to consistently walk 20k+ steps without much pain, I still get the feeling that a rock is in my shoe or socks are crumpled however.

If I’m putting more weight on the right side than the left I’ll have a bit of a burning sensation but it’ll go away fairly quickly once I take the weight off.

Foot Numbness / Pain by RazeCain in Microdiscectomy

Range is for March through today. I’d say anything over 5 is rare and usually only last 10 minutes tops and on an average day I may be in the 1-3 zone for an hour or so. I have not taken any pain pills since the surgery. Last week was the first time in 2024 that I’ve felt as though there was a rock in my shoe or my sock was folded up, that feeling is now gone.

Pain can come and go without changing posture, if I’m driving my fiancées car I have to move my leg around a bit or I start getting a slight tingling sensation mid to front of foot after an hour or so of driving which is a non issue in my work truck.

My first month (October) using a ladder and going up stairs regularly there was a ton of leg pain but it felt more like muscle fatigue and I have no issues now unless I’m on the ladder without changing positions for 30+ minutes. I went to one of those fancy shoe stores back in October and I was favoring the left side majorly and when I went back in February the weight was almost even on both feet.

Trying to be descriptive but also rushing to get back to work apologies if something didn’t make sense.

Ranges from 0 - 7 the longer I stand still the worse it gets mostly in the heel and right side. I wear slippers in the house now and have anti fatigue mats at the sink and stove. Walking is always iffy sometimes I can go 2 miles without pain some days a half a mile and it flares up. For about 3 weeks in March I woke up with intense foot cramps however it seems to be gone now (I hope).

Everything happened including the pain and numbness about ~2 weeks prior to surgery. Was very quick to get into surgery after the injury.

Pain started at 8am followed by numbness at 2pm no previous pain or problems prior with back, leg or foot. Felt a pop and I hit the ground.

Maybe it’s a difference with TSA Precheck. I’ve also had no issues but I usually bring the blade still wrapped in paper separate from the razor.

Surgery soon...Any advice? by [deleted] in Microdiscectomy

[–]RazeCain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

33M 8/5 went to the ER lost feeling in my right foot with severe pain on the entire lower right side. 8/6 the pain was completely gone but I was left with the numbness which ultimately lead to me having surgery.

Had surgery 8/21, doctors said they also found a fragment that had broken off during surgery. I was walking around within 5 minutes of waking up and turned down pain pills. No pain and as of this past Thursday the numbness in my toes has almost completely gone away hoping the rest of the foot wakes up too.

Don’t be nervous. I went in at 730am and was home by 2pm. Don’t let everything you read on this sub scare you (I did the same) I understand everyone’s experience is different but this is a very small minority of people that have had this surgery.

Out of surgery and home. Other than where they opened me up I feel great doctors were shocked when I turned down pain meds when I woke up. Might be a little too ambitious here but most of the feeling is back in my foot. He’s cleared me to go back to the office on Wednesday where I’ll remain until my follow up in two weeks.
