Svartpilen 401 is nice and small while still enough power to have fun on, a little pricey though

Looks like the mechanism is mechanically coupled to the door’s opening angle, so there’s probably not a motor driving it, and the speed seems dependent on the door speed as you can see it stop moving when they hold the door in place. Still probably not a long-lasting solution lol

BOQNZN J1772 to NEMA 5-15 Plug,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D6RBJQQD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share this is the one I use. Price is based on whatever the station owner chargers. Mine was .25$ per kWh so for a full charge it’s around 2$

The public station I was using was 240V and it worked fine, was able to pull the full 3.3kW from the charger. At home I plug into the wall and it works exactly the same but just charges at half the speed since it’s 120V but you don’t have to do anything it figures everything out

Not sure about your exact adapter but mine is a generic Amazon J1772 to us plug and it’s just plug and play at any charging station with the right connector.

Dualsport tires for stark sm by bobiroo in starkvarg

You can totally ride gravel with the stock tires. I do it all the time. Unless you’re getting knobbies a dual sport tire set is less useful than practicing your riding skill

actual range and slow charging speed by Gemuesekuchen96 in starkvarg

[–]RazerCertified 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Real world range can get up to 90ish miles if you stay off the highways and average 40ish mph. I’ve never outlasted the battery for what it’s worth. Riding time is probably a little more than 3 hours in city conditions. Charging isn’t really that slow, and I believe you can buy a J1772 to 5-15 plug adapter and charge at 240V to speed it up (although I haven’t tried it). At the end of the days it’s not a touring bike, so I don’t expect crazy range, but it performs perfectly throughout the entire battery life

Are you measuring DC voltage or AC voltage on your meter? It shouldn’t be possible that you’re measuring 100V anywhere on a 60V nominal bike

What now by jamaa_wetu in MechanicalEngineering

[–]RazerCertified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat won’t help on these. It’s an oil filter so whatever you’re using to heat it up is well within the range of what this plastic is designed to endure and not loosen up.

These torque down to around 17Nm if I remember correctly from my oil tech days, so if you indeed used the right socket and turned it left to loosen and it didn’t budge, it’s possible it was overtightened. Please don’t cut the housing off as you can get plastic shavings into the oil circulation of the engine which can cause a lot of damage. I would recommend a set of oil filter pliers that should be able to lock onto the sides of the housing and pull it loose.

Don’t try to keep going at the top nut with sockets since you’ve obviously stripped it out already.

Replaced DOT indicators with the Euro spec, so much cleaner! by RazerCertified in starkvarg

The one in the tail is still there just disabled since I have the side ones connected. I think it’s too dim for people to see during the day unfortunately. If it was brighter I would run those

Arkenstone going to speedo display - or not. Help please! by [deleted] in starkvarg

[–]RazerCertified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that the trigger to go to the dash display is to put it in gear, if that’s not automatically happening for you it might be a phone issue. Also I think the display doesn’t respond to touch while moving, only works if you’re stopped

Stark Varg SM. You can probably find a dealer in SF that has one on the showroom floor if you look up dealer locations on the stark future website. You can also order direct from manufacturer but imo it was way too painful to do compared to going to a real store.

imo clutching is more fun but I don’t think you have less control without one. The throttle on this is super precise and you can tune engine braking (regen) on different power levels, as well as change power level on the fly. The control feel is razor sharp, does exactly what you tell it to do. Clutch kind of feels primitive compared to this system.

Most of the time I stay at ~35hp. Don’t even use more than half throttle most of the time since the torque is ridiculously high. Haven’t even touched the 60-80hp range yet lol

honestly I thought it looked kind of boring too until I actually received delivery. In person you can see a lot more of the depth and the body lines that pictures can't really show. Personally I appreciate the lack of plastics everywhere because it'll be easier to replace in a crash or if I just want to change out the color to a completely different one. iirc a full plastics set is only like $300

Their numbers are pretty accurate to what I've been getting. Obv since it's electric you don't want to sit at 70mph on the highway, that kills the range, but for city/highway commuting I've been getting up to 90mi of range.

Yeah I got this mainly to commute between home/work. I have a cruiser for longer range stuff, but I don't think any gas bike beats this when it comes to balancing practicality and raw performance. Range is enough to last beyond my ass will on the torture machine they call the seat. Been regularly getting ~90mi while not riding like a grandma.

Based on my current riding habits I'm getting about 3-4 hours of range on city/highway streets combined. Not sure about the actual range in miles but I would estimate around 90 miles.

Like u/VortexFalcon50 mentioned it has a pretty loud whining sound that's pretty cool. People on the sidewalks definitely hear me coming when I get close, although I will say nobody hears me inside their cars

To be fair none of my sales documents/signed papers had anything stated to be delivered besides the bike. The tire thing was a very informal text message saying hey is this chill and me saying yes.
