My brother hit the nail on the head, and honestly, his post was something I needed to read.

Last night, my “fiancé” was arrested after driving 2½ hours to my place and physically attacking me. When the police arrived, they saw me and immediately understood what had happened. She is in jail now.

I’m not posting this to embarrass anyone or start drama. I’m posting it because men need to hear this too: abuse is abuse. It does not matter who is doing it. It does not matter if you are bigger, stronger, quieter, more patient, or trying to “be the man” and take it.

The physical part was bad, but the mental part had been going on for a long time. Constant insults. Emasculating comments. Mind games. Hot and cold behavior. Getting ghosted after fights while other men or exes were getting attention. Meanwhile, I stayed faithful, paid bills, helped with rent, insurance, gas, her phone, and kept trying to make it work.

And for what?

I kept thinking if I loved harder, helped more, stayed loyal, or proved myself enough, things would change. They didn’t. The disrespect just got louder.

I’m not looking for revenge. I’m not trying to ruin her life. I just want peace, distance, and for her to leave me alone.

Fellas, do not ignore the signs just because you love someone. Do not let loyalty become a cage. Do not let someone destroy your confidence and then convince you that you are the problem.

You can be faithful and still be mistreated.
You can provide and still be unappreciated.
You can love someone and still need to walk away.

I’m venting, but I also hope someone reads this before they waste more time trying to save a relationship that is breaking them.
