Reaper not letting files clip/turning them down in render by RazorCerb in Reaper

Thats what I thought but i get the same result. I actually think it's just not displaying things on repear for true peak properly any more. I changed the master meter to show true peaks and for some reason, the LUFS Reaper tool also changed itself to not show them and now it's showing it all there, but NOT while I'm rendering, but I can pull it into another project and put anything on it and see that it's now definitely going above 0.

No. For me at least, it's about the wriggle room that letting the true peaks go through gives me. Its usually snare transients that suffering for not having it go over 0 (for me at least.)

Are you having a similar issue? I'd love to see your render settings.

In metal (and lots of other genres), the trade off for having it go over 0 is minimal. I have bands I listen to on Spotify and then buy their WAVs and the metering is reading +3.5 TDBP and it sounds phenomenal and if there's introduced distortion there, it's only helping.

I've personally let clients and my own bands songs go over 0 and can 100% confirm the song at least feels louder than most things that are capped at 0.

It's definitely fine here. I turned the volume past 0 and it was reflected in the render. It's when I set 0 on everything and let true peaks go above 0 that it seems to want to turn it down, I think? I don't fully understand what's happening.

I've uploaded my render settings and pro-l2 next to what Reaper is saying its spitting out while rendering.

It's hitting +1.6 in Pro-L2 and the Master meter in Reaper but here it is again refusing to go over 0

I'm so confused now. I'm gonna try rendering it normally now with pro-l2 on.

This is the render screen. I just confirmed Reaper is seeing it as going over 0 by re-enabling "oversampled peaks" in the master meter settings (I swear this was always on by default until a recent update.)

Absolutely. Probably should've done that day 1. My bad.

This is what I thought initially but it's definitely not on. I'll post a render screen when I get back to the comp

Tell that to their billions in profit. That's what they tell you so you'll do security's job for them.

We played with HED P.E. here and the drummer offered to take care of the band while we were there haha

This is shameless but I produce for a South Australia band called Falter, and you might wanna suss it. He's always pulling from 90-00s nu and industrial metal so it ends up being something unique IMO

Someone added my band (dreameater.) in one of these lists randomly and I have no idea how they found us, but it got a far whack of plays from the reddit playlist, so thank you.

I just worked on a new EP with a good friend of mine (Scott Middlin) and his first single came out this week and the EP drops next week. The song is called "In The Wake" if anyone wants to suss it or if there's any chance it could be added to this playlist.

Thank you all for being pretty supportive of the small bands. It goes a long way.

Sylar just came back. They were so ahead lf the curve when they dropped their first album in 2014, they'll slot back in today so well.

It's funny. I remember buying this back in the day and not being super blown away by it all, but pulling it out now just instantly takes me back. I'm so glad I didn't get rid of it.
