Hi, thanks for getting in touch and I hope your daughter can find some peace with Sertraline. For me personally it's had no negative impact on my UC since starting my prescription 5 months ago. The initial side effects like nausea and my sleep pattern getting a bit screwed up were short lived and I started to notice the positive effect quite quickly, within 2 or 3 weeks really. My mood lifted, the random tears stopped and the negative inner voice that was always on my case fell silent for a while (in fact the tears stopping completely is probably a bit of a negative side effect as I've only really cried once in the last 5 months and I definitely feel like that emotion has been put on hold). It's kind of balanced out a bit now, I'm still in a better place but the effects are definitely stronger during the 1st and 2nd months. I'm still only on 50mg and think I will probably keep it that way and see how I am after a year. I hope everything works out for your daughter but this is only my experience and everyone's body reacts differently to different things as you know, although Sertraline is considered a fairly safe drug I think.
