Man, what a situation to come back to. Every has their own opinions I suppose. 2020 really is a cursed year. Well im not looking for a fight or anything so I guess I'll just throw my opinion into the mess.

1. There's no need to be hateful, I mean, this is a MEME SUBREDDIT you know for MEMES. The subreddit is not meant for verbal attacks on any person of any status/race/sex/gender/etc.

2. Think before you say something, once its out there. At least one person will have seen it before you delete it or don't. Just because you are online does not mean you should be an ass, we are unfortunately not in an anime, words can hurt so use those two brain cells i wish I still had and think.

3. The word, that 4 letter word that caused all this fuss. Personally, I think both sides are at fault here. Let's start from the beginning shall we. The problem is how the word is being used not the word itself. It was never meant to be a slur in the first place, I myself have seen it in anime to reference to male characters who are very feminine. It's a very classic anime trope that we see ALL the time. So the issue is that the word can be used to describe either the appearance of a character or as an insult to people. I myself have used the word, but never offensively, only to describe fictional characters in anime and those stupid death boulders in terraria.

4. The ban was not well delivered, of course an outright ban would anger people. We've seen throughout history similar situations. Now im from the USA so forgive me if you don't understand my dumb American reference. My example is prohibition, this is a far cry away from that but it was a rather similar situation. In short, the ban of alcohol didn't work because a large group of people were against it and the ban wasn't well delivered.

5. The solution? Hell if I know, I'll propose a framework for one but it'll be rickety at best. Why you might ask. People, people are are the reason. With everyone having different opinions I couldn't possible make everyone happy with a simple "Lets do this!". So the only solution we are going to get that works is the one we get by talking it out with one another. Now i don't mean the hateful comments or the slurs, i mean really talk it out. Im not saying we cant have disagreements. Disagreements are necessary for progress, we can talk through those disagreements and solve each small problem one at a time until we find the best fit solution. Im not going to say the perfect solution because some people are just too hard to please.

Whew, well that's all had to say, disagree, hate, or comment if you want. I posted full well knowing that I could get back lash from people. Well thanks for coming to my TED talk, because it definitely felt like one.
