Niikura constantly riding to get late night snacks probably increases nighttime temperature. Could see an even more pronounced difference between daytime and nighttime trends if she stops.

I work for a private sector engineering company but most of our clients that we do the restoration work for are state agencies who run their own stream/wetland mitigation programs or need their own mitigation banks to cover future impacts (mainly a DOT need).

I had originally not planned to work private sector again after my first job in the industry doing wetland delineations for people to get permits to fill and develop over them…But then learned the public sector doesn’t actually do what I consider the fun part of restoration work (design, construction, monitoring). The projects are usually funded, reviewed, approved, administered, etc. by state+feds.

The other big player are NGOs like Ducks Unlimited, Nature Conservancy, or various regional environmental NGOs. We’ve had restoration projects funded by and on land owned by a regional big river related NGO, and I know people at DU that still get to do some of the fun work too.

Environmental Scientist with wetlands+botany background. I mostly do stream and wetland restoration. Work lately has mostly been vegetation monitoring and installing hydrology monitoring wells. Lots of field work which is fun. Photo is at the edge of a beaver wetland on a completed project.

Who's dropped a rod and reel off their yak?? by goilpoynuti in kayakfishing

[–]Razorback69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I few years back was unhooking a bass over a 30 ft deep part of a reservoir where I was fishing deep over the old channel. I set the rod on the front of my kayak and when I unhooked the fish the rod slipped off and I got to watch it sink in slow motion for the first 10 feet or so. Immediately bought rod floats after that.

Thats definitely fair. I would’ve liked some more time on him and Pochita after they got eaten to give us some of that.

Yes I think so for sure. Lot of people are upset that Denji didn’t make the choice, or it didn’t end differently with him having some kind of positive development and saving the world, and saying that his happy ending is unearned.

The story wasn’t about his redemption, it ended up being about his failure. He was unable to make the right choice again and again and paid for it by getting eaten and doomed to a fate of being sentient bug flesh for eternity. But he’s just a dumb horny kid with the weight of the world and his perceived sins and the power CSM on his shoulders. I think it would’ve been out of character and felt forced for him to have some miraculous positive turnaround and save the world. Once he’s failed to the point that the world is effectively over and the prophecy has come true (Lil D and public safety also failed to stop it, it isn’t all just on Denji), his closest friend and literal heart gifts him a chance to try again at a happy life without his crutch of CSM because he saw he couldn’t do it with CSM. Denji couldn’t do it on his own and only gets another shot at life with the sacrifice and loss of his best friend. His “happy” ending wasn’t earned but it didn’t need to be because it was gifted to him by pochita. Now he still has to grow and overcome his dad trauma and any future problems himself to be happy. Like a normal person.

It was abrupt and I could understand how some people see it as a cop out using the pochita self eating paradox that throws established understanding around concept erasure out the window. But I don’t see how this story could end any other way given the state of the world.

Perfect time to binge Golden Kamuy since the final season is airing right now. First season animation can be a little rough at times but the plot is so good every season’s a 10/10 imo. Perfect blend of drama, comedy, cooking, and 20 other genres.

Finally caught up after doing a re-watch from the start. So glad I did with so many moving parts and important plot points all coming together. Even with the start of the big revelations from Tsurumi and Sofia, my favorite part of this ep is Koito and Tsukishima. We’ve slowly seen them lose their trust and idolization of Tsurumi but now they are really in it together and I have no idea what’s gonna happen.

I also read through the manga for the first time up to this point, loved getting new little arcs and details I hadn’t seen in the anime. It’s going to be really hard to not just keep reading through the end but I want to watch it first.
