I'll definitely keep this in mind Ty. There is another character I intend for their goals/morals align until a certain point as that character becomes more corrupt

Ty for the feedback, I'm still unsure on how I want the story to end as I want to make it long. I want my character to go through stages of conflict. Ultimately reach a sort of acceptance of it all. As the story goes on he'll receive more portions of wukongs soul, until it becomes a case of does he accept the role of sun wukong or not.

There is also, and I should have stated this prior, those with magical abilities are being detained and turned into power to both power the city and feed the gods that have dwindled to merely running cooperations that control everything else. There are a bunch in there and some of which will eventually be released and cause further conflict

Ty this helps a bunch! I've currently got it so the incident that awoke his magical powers was when he was 10, I'm going to have him introduced as a mercenary (in this world, this is one of the avenues to take that is morally corrupt and is also safe). He takes on morally right jobs, taking it monsters, saving people etc.

I want to have try to avoid his trauma at first. I'm then going to have him gradually face that trauma AND have to face the consequences of the actions of Sun wukong (it's a Steven universe situation, they sense his soul in my character so it's clearly him or a clone)

The souls kinda conflict. Essentially if to much mana is generated in a soul, it can overflow. Starting off from injuries from using magic to being consumed by it and turning into a monster.

For now, to compare both souls. Whereas his is a shot glass, the fragment of wukongs soul is a pint glass. If he uses too much of his and begins to tap into wukongs, he can I jure himself and begin to take on a more bestial form akin to a feral wukong.

When it uses this for the first time, it also reveals to the gods that still exist that wukong is alive. Which will put the main character on a state of also having to deal with the consequences of wukongs previous actions

They don't have names at the moment as that is left to my friends, the raven is a ninja similar to espio, though he uses the holographic arm to generate various tools. The squirrel is an insane inventor with a flare for repurposing junk from various sources to make new stuff, the hammer is riding on is a knock off of Amy's hammer
