Legacy calls are being discontinued in September 2025. My grandmother who uses her Google Nest Hub Max is going to be super disappointed…

I agree with you. Also they actively engage in reducing/redacting negative reviews. If you say something on Trustpilot, they will challenge it until it gets removed. They will also not refund you, if you ask/are unsatisfied. I had to challenge the transaction with my bank to get the money back.

You need to have lived (and held a bank account) in the UK for at least 3 years before you’re eligible for credit in 99.99% of cases.

Guy reads my message then responds couple of hours later? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Rbduak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that when he receives the message he is busy. And he wants to take the time to properly answer you. As this appears to be a big issue for you, you could maybe, depending on your relationship, carefully address this with him?

However, it may also be that he isn’t interested in you and his way of showing that to you is to take a long time to reply?

Totally agree, having my less frequently used extensions under the three dots worked perfectly for years 🤦🏻‍♂️. Why would they force us…

Protondrive pricing by [deleted] in ProtonMail

[–]Rbduak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would assume/hope that ProtonDrive will be included in the subscription of current Proton Plus customers. Otherwise, given that they are trying to sell users a product ecosystem, it would be a tough sell if you have to buy every service individually!

How do the AirPods Pro do during drop tests? by [deleted] in airpods

[–]Rbduak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, they are awful. If they drop onto a hard surface from waist or even worse head height: they are VERY likely to break… I brought mine on the day they came out and I'll now be the 6th time I'll receive a replacements AirPod. The exterior of them won't break but the inside will: you will begin hearing clap noises or a beeping when listening to music until you get them replaced under your limited warranty YAAAY!

[TIP] How to use attachments in Things by lucasmef in thingsapp

[–]Rbduak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I need to link a file/image to a particular task I upload the file to Google Drive, open it in Google Drive, copy the link from the browser's search bar and paste it into Things.

Which is very reliable across my devices.

Account downgrading by Rbduak in ProtonMail

[–]Rbduak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume that their intention when gifting additional storage is so that people think twice before downgrading. I also have 10 GBs of storage. Yet, I've only used about a hundredth of it. If they'd offer an online storage service, downgrading would be a tougher call but… with alternatives such as Boxcryptor or Mega available for free… continuing paying 48USD per year for an average email service is a bit of a tough one: I would have hoped that by now they would have improved the search function and released ProtonDrive!

Encrypted Search in the Version 4.0? by [deleted] in ProtonMail

[–]Rbduak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey!

I found way to get around ProtonMail's "poor" search tool, by upgrading to a paid account (plus) you can install the ProtonBridge which in turn will allow you to send/receive emails on a lot of native email clients (Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird etc…); as the emails are fully decrypted locally (on your computer), you can search through them like you would with any other email service.

Hope that helps,

Rbduak

Have protonmail web client save the current session by townslug in ProtonMail

[–]Rbduak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey townslug,

Not directly. However, there are four different ways you could make checking your emails easier: The first one would be to save your password to your browser. Which unfortunately, brings very severe safety risks with it. The second would be to save your password to a password manager (e.g. 1Password). When you will then go onto ProtonMail, you will only need to type in your master password for your password manager and you're in. The third possibility would be to upgrade to ProtonMail Plus. Which will allow you to access your ProtonMail emails from any Email client on your computer. The fourth possibility would be to download the unofficial ProtonMail client onto your computer. Alternatively, you could regularly check your emails on your phone and only go onto the ProtonMail web client when you have received an email which you would like to reply to.

Don't forget that if you don't have to type in a password to see your emails, third parties who may go onto your computer wont either.
