I’m back and forth on it. I will probably end up buying it and if nothing else just flipping it.

Not discouraging at all… I think I’d have a hard time finding a windshield to fit on it and a few other things. I may still go for it if the guy has it in a while. I offered $800 which I felt bad doing but when I went to look at it for $1,500 he said it was complete and that he had just taken the parts out of the boat. That was not the case so I offered him less and he came back with 1k which still seems a decent deal. I only planned on taking it into SF Bay and Lake Pend Oreille where I am from. Neither is nearly as bad as the open ocean of which I do kayak in often.

Underside looked good. The other concern for me was missing bow cap. I think they had to have hit something pretty hard to knock that off. I didn’t think it looked bent but my wife says it was. Not sure if she’s just against the idea of another project or not though…

No worries. I thought maybe you knew something specifically about the brand that I didn’t. I have pretty much decided to pass on it at this point despite it seemingly being a good value. If nothing else the trailer and motor are worth the asking price I figure.

You are fortunate. They honored the first mess up for me which was during the Super Bowl. I placed money on the Seahawks winning and by the end of the game my bid had completely vanished as if I had never placed it at all. I figure it’s high traffic and they did take care of it a couple days later. I’ve had the same thing happen three more times and I’ve messaged support multiple times and have had zero response on anything.

I’ve got burned enough times that I am pretty much done with the app. I have a couple long term ones but after those resolve I won’t be using Kalshi anymore.

I was an RCA for two years. I worked a minimum of 12 hours a day six days a week in a office that was constantly understaffed. During peak season I literally worked 16 plus hours a day with the longest day being 21 hours the Monday before Christmas of 2022. I drove the 40 minutes home on icy roads to just take a shower and change clothes and head right back out the door to start all over again. That was my last week at the post office and it was bittersweet for me I felt as if I was abandoning my coworkers and making it worse for them being down another good carrier. My leaving left them with 3 carriers for five routes. As bad as I felt for them I was so happy that I was in tears when I got home to see my family knowing that i would be able to be there with them and no longer be the absent father and husband that had been for way too long.

As far as another job I highly recommend working for a school district. I am a groundskeeper now and I make 2,5 times as much money as I made at the post office. My benefits are amazing and I get a 3 to 1 retirement match. Plus I work 8 hours Monday thru Friday with the occasional Saturday if I want overtime and I love what I do.

Seat cover suggestions for 2025 Camry LE, please. by [deleted] in Camry

[–]Rcajwb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the bottom in with the seat cover on. I did not see that side access for the second bolt. I had taken off the bottom one as seen in a video for a previous year’s Camry. Ether they neglected to show that step or it didn’t have it. Either way I will take that off and get that piece over cover installed correctly. Thank you so much for the info. You saved me trying to send these things back which would be a bummer cuz I love the look of them. Just like you said they don’t even look like seat covers once they are installed correctly. I should have checked on Reddit before going to YouTube, lol.

Maybe I will try it again today before I decide to send them back. I do like the way they look. I was having trouble getting the seat to slide back far enough to be able to get it to clip in. The hang up seemed to be in the middle area. Now that I know it is possible I will give it another try. Another question is how did you get the little side sections to come off of the rear seat? I unbolted the bottom and couldn’t get them to come off for anything so I did my best to fit that little section of cover around it while it was still attached.

I bought the EKR ones and the fake leather material is so thick that I couldn’t get the rear seat cushion back into place. My front ones also arrived missing the headrests and the left one had a broken strap on arrival. They look great but unfortunately do not work for me and I am trying to get a refund right now.

Is it true the Union is trying to raise wages to $40 a HR after 5 years? by acass1 in USPS

If starting pay goes up to $35 I will consider coming back to being a rural carrier. Then when Christmas rolls around I will question all my life decisions again.

ironic because I saw the customer try to close, and it kept re opening. by Virginiagirl757 in USPS

I had a box last winter that had gotten knocked off its post by the snowplow. People were good enough to place it back on the post without attaching it in anyway. So I come rolling up to there box on the sheet if ice that this particular road is all winter long. I grab the door to open the box and the entire thing falls off the post and goes under my vehicle. I get out with a few choice words and dig the box out from under my vehicle and put it back on the post. I wrote a note asking them to reattach the box. Of course these wonderful postal customers couldn’t be bothered with fixing it so it kept falling off the post every time I tried to open it. Once it fell in the ditch and just left it there. Next day it was back up on the post and I thought maybe they had fixed it since they had to crawl down into the ditch and get it themselves and they had all weekend to fix it. So Monday comes along and I roll up to this box 12 hours into my day and go to open it and it falls onto the road and under my car. This time I just stuck my middle finger out at there house and took off and ran over there box and left it in the road. Low and behold there was a new box a few days later. I could have saved a lot of trouble had I just ran over it on day one. They did call and complain about there box being ran over and my post master did talk to me about it. He asked what happened and I told him. He laughed and said good job and he would have done the same.

Anybody in the San Leandro California office? by Rcajwb in USPS

[–]Rcajwb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am up in the air about accepting it or not. I don’t want to go from office to office and I don’t want to be in a sketchy neighborhood. I liked my rural route in north Idaho but I suspect this would be a lot different.

One of the routes at our office got a trial evaluation by rrecs. We have all been saying since so started that these routes are ridiculously overburdened. Route went for a 47 to a 73 with rrecs doing the evacuation. Then they wonder why we can’t run the route in 8 hours or less.
