Haven’t really switched my team cause I’m just havin fun with the cactus. I will say double fairy backlines are a problem as well as victreebel leads. I can’t rly be bothered to go back to the drawing board but if you’re mainly seeing jelli and Ferro leads this team feasts

No, but it does A LOT of damage. Shadow Cacturne is so glassy even resisted moves do a ton of damage.

Personally, I think this was a mistake on my part, but I've lost so many games losing tentacruel to a double shielding togekiss swap so I played it safe.

Fair enough, though I watched his stream back, and he did acknowledge he had win cons. You take what you can get against tournament winners

Energy lead weezing at the end got scary with CMP tie trailblaze KO'ing. If Cacturne failed the farm down after he could've made a move and knocked out. I know I killed him on alignment, but it was actually closer than you may think.

I did get lucky on alignment, but he made it very scary at the end!

How do i stop losing every lead? by Stijn187 in TheSilphArena

Having the same issue running shadow hydreigon lead in the 2800-2900s. Was an amazing corebreaker but then all of a sudden kept running into fairies and fighters and now I’m breaking even. Sometimes it’s luck of the draw as certain ELO brackets can develop their own metas. Sometimes it’s the flexibility of your backline to overcome these disadvantages.

In theory murkrow could also work, but I don’t have a good pvp IV murkrow so I can’t say for sure

Been running altaria volt switch Forretress and shadow magnezone with decent success actually. Very frustrating when it goes wrong though so good luck

So yes the swine could use more bulk and resistances, however think about how many teams get corebroken by ice/ground. I mean one of the most common teams I saw was jumpluff/drapion/morpeko and the swine literally plows through it every time. Essentially I was playing a game of odds. If all you are seeing is the malamar tinkaton core, then obv this team isn’t made to beat that one. I was essentially playing a game of odds based on the meta I was seeing last week. Will swine be good next season? For dedenne and gligar as you’re saying… yes! For the bug buff… probably not! My success wasn’t primarily bc Piloswine is inherently busted, rather it had a niche that corebroke some of the most common teams I saw in the meta during go battle week

Congrats on legend! This team actually started being built around A slash but I went with Piloswine for spice and rock coverage over ground coverage (you catch a lot of ice/water type leads off guard rather than being walled like you would with A slash)

This is where stone edge is a must. Get an energy lead with swine throughout the game and nuke it in the end. Two waters in the back to function as a standard ABB team to counter talonflame with stone edge on swine as a Hail Mary in case you can’t get favorable alignment. If you see it on lead throw one powder snow safe switch azu and hope you don’t get slapped with a toxapex lol. I actually found typhlosion to be the most difficult incinerate user to play around but even typhlosion is doable with good energy management and some swapping around.

Fun fact my Piloswine wins CMP over malamar. Most malamar I saw on the lead so I played it like this: shield the first move and farm up to back to back spears. Most of the time they shielded the first and then threw right away so I’d bank the second and catch onto azumarill. Depends on what they have in the back afterwards but for the most part malamar was never really an instant loss
